The company was established in 1991 by Harish S. Mehta (Founder & Executive Chairman), who was also Deputy Chairman & MD of Onward - Novell (a 50:50 JV between Onward Group & Novell), Co-Founder of NASSCOM, Director of Indian Angel Network(IAN)and many more. In an exclusive conversation with CEO Insights, Jigar Mehta(Managing Director) talks about Onward Technologies strategies and ideas to compete, succeed and continue to innovate to be ahead of the curve while growing consistently.
How do you ensure to craft your engineering services accordingly through every phase of product design & development?
As product development is crucial for any manufacturing company, we handhold our clients through all its phases by delivering comprehensive engineering solutions in shorter time cycles and within budget. To examine these products during their design phase, we have created Analytically Driven Design & Development(AD3)approach, a unique blend of CAD, FEA and CFD that interfaces simulation and CAD to predict product performance and reduce the costs on prototype design and physical testing. Later in the manufacturing process, we assist our clients in process planning, machine tools selection, tooling & fixture design, plant layout design, installation and commissioning of machines along with extended support on vendor
qualification. In addition to this, we also create product documentation along with complex interactive electronic technical manuals and publications infused with alluring illustrations and animations.
What other services & support do you offer? How do you incorporate every trend in digitalization?
Our vision is to be recognized as one stop solution provider in both the areas of product design and manufacturing engineering. We are incorporating number of state of the art technologies to help build a digital enterprise. To offer value added services we have already incorporated technologies like artificial intelligence, Cloud solutions, Machine learning, augmented reality, data analytics etc. in our service and business portfolios.
Within transportation, we are offering solutions in embedded systems ECU development functionalities in body control modules, advanced driver assistant system (ADAS), Telematics, IOT, Infotainment, HMI etc. along with AUTOSAR and functional safety (ISO26262) across domains. In-fact we have also started incorporating DOE (deign of Experiments) in our solutions to give best in class services at a best price. As e-mobility is becoming reality and most of the governments wants to move towards clean energy solutions, we have also added expertise in the areas of battery management systems, algorithm development, some functionalities in light weighting.
Within Manufacturing engineering, we believe that we are quite unique in robotics and our tailor made solutions in this domain takes us closer to smart factory and industry 4.0. In real sense we are working towards connecting shop floor to top floor, where in ERP systems are getting feeds from all different types of sensors and equipment’s from shop floor to reduce the down times, meet the highest quality

Lokendra joined Onward in 2014 and focuses on international markets of US, Europe and UK of Onward. He carries rich 19+ years of experience in the industry primarily working on development of enabling technologies for product development.
Vignesh Kumar, Sr VP – Sales
Vignesh joined Onward in 2017 and focuses on India market focusing on key strategic customer relationships and product re-selling business of Onward. He brings with him more than 24 years of experience in selling Enterprise Software Solutions to manufacturing companies.
