| | APRIL 20258People below 30 years of age would often wonder why India is called the diabetes capital of the world. Well, it wouldn't take much time for them to hit reality. As soon as you hit 30, the other shoe drops, making you regret your careless lifestyle choices throughout your 20s. Today, India has over 77 million people living with diabetes. According to reports, this number is projected to reach 134 million by 2045. Heart diseases account for nearly 28 percent of all deaths, making them the leading cause of mortality in the country. On the other hand, the reports also say that obesity in the country is growing at an unprecedented rate. It's no secret that Urban India particularly bears the brunt, with almost 40 percent of urban adults being either overweight or obese. Unfortunately, the array of lifestyle diseases doesn't stop there. Hypertension, high cholesterol, liver diseases, and even certain types of cancer linked to poor lifestyle choices are on the rise. It's ironic that these conditions are largely preventable, especially if you had built a combination of workout and diet routines throughout your life in your 20s. We owe big thanks to medical professionals-- from dietitians to cardiologists. While their interventions through hospitals make a difference, many of them endeavor to create awareness through their social media channels, creating a significant impact. This issue of CEO Insights shed light on some of the reputed cardiologists in India who are well deserved of this recognition.Do let us know your thoughts.Sujith VasudevanManaging Editoreditor@ceoinsightsindia.comLifestyle Choices Do Make a Difference EditorialVol 09 · Issue 02 - 4 · APRIL, 2025 Publisher Alok ChaturvediSenior Designer Girisha M VisualizersSurbhi Suman Madhusmita Sahoo NoidaRohan S Jaspreet K Niteesh Pandey advertise@ceoinsightsindia.comEditorial querieseditor@ceoinsightsindia.comAdvertising ManagerRahul Das Pattanaik To subscribeVisit https://www.ceoinsightsindia.com/subscribe/ or send emailto subscription@ceoinsightsindia.comMagazine Price is Rs. 150 per issuePublisher Alok ChaturvediPrinted and Published By Alok Chaturvedi on behalf of InfoConnect Web Technologies India Pvt.
