| | JULY 20268The newly inaugurated Bengaluru RD&I Center will work closely with The Magnum Ice Cream Company's Global Design Centre in Colworth, UK, and its Regional Innovation Hub in Istanbul, Turkey, to develop products tailored to Indian con-sumer preferences.By combining global expertise with local market insights, the center aims to strengthen the inno-vation pipeline, enhance product quality, accelerate time-to-market, and adapt global dairy platforms for India. Supporting brands such as Kwality Wall's, Cornetto, Magnum, Carte D'Or, Feast, and Twister, the facility focuses on product, pro-cess, and packaging innovation, consumer insights, and regulatory evaluation.Equipped with advanced pilot plant technologies, it enables rapid testing, sensory analysis, packag-ing validation, and climate simu-lations to ensure products perform effectively in Indian market conditions. JSW Steel Ltd has com-menced construction of a new steel facility in Andhra Pradesh, marking a Rs.16,350-crore investment to boost domestic steel produc-tion and advance lower-carbon manufacturing. The Rayalaseema project will be developed in two phases. The first phase involves a one-mil-lion-tonne-per-annum integrated steel plant with an investment of Rs.4,500 crore. The second phase will add another one mtpa, raising total capacity to 2 mtpa through an Vikram Solar has com-menced photovoltaic (PV) module production at its new Gangaikondan facility in Tamil Nadu, marking the rollout of the first solar module from the plant. Developed in phases, the fa-cility is designed to achieve an annual module manufacturing capacity of 6 GW. The company also plans to integrate solar cell, wafer, and ingot production, creating a fully integrated manufacturing ecosystem. Using South Korean technology for the first time, the dams aim to improve irrigation, groundwater recharge, and flood management. The Rs.82.97 crore Rajvasana project, expected by September 2027, will benefit 25 villages by increasing water storage to 3.5 million cubic metres. Its inflatable design allows sand discharge and floodwater release during monsoons. Meanwhile, the Rs.79.13 crore Pathakwadi Rubber Dam addresses challenging terrain where conven-tional structures are unsuitable. Construction is nearly com-plete, with Rajvasana around 75 percent finished and Pathakwadi reaching 90 percent completion, enhancing regional water security. an additional 3 GW by FY2028, and 12 GW of wafer and ingot capacity by FY2030.The plant will generate over 1,500 skilled jobs and features advanced automation and digi-tal manufacturing technologies. It will initially produce Hypersol n-type TOPCon G12R modules with efficiencies reach-ing 23.69 percent.
