| | MARCH 20254Since 2014, India has significantly enhanced its relationship with the Gulf states. The focus of that relationship has transformed from energy, trade and Indian expatriates into a new framework encompassing everything from new trade routes, political relations, investment, and defence and security cooperation. In truth, both India as well as the GCC countries are been going through a transformation phase. The region's leaders are investing Significant efforts in changing the `brand GCC's' image from a conservative, Oil-based economic region to a culturally inclusive, sustainable business destination. The Middle East is undoubtedly making significant strides on the global stage. American actress and singer Jennifer Lopez's recent return to the stage at Elie Saab's 45th-anniversary runway show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, showcases a remarkable transformation that would have seemed improbable a decade ago.Despite these advancements, the region's full economic potential remains hindered by persistent unrest, particularly the Israel-Palestine conflict. In response, Arab powers such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, and Qatar have adopted a less aggressive stance towards the Gaza conflict, which may be viewed as an effort to embrace the future through the Abraham Accords. Established on September 15th, 2020, the Abraham Accords are a series of joint normalization agreements between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain. This special issue of CEO Insights is dedicated to the Indian business leaders in the GCC region who have navigated these challenging times with commendable fortitude.
