| | MAY 20268Federation of Indian Ex-port Organisations (FIEO) stated that the Free Trade Agreement between India and New Zealand marks a significant step in strengthening global trade engagement and boosting exports. FIEO President S C Ralhan says, "The pact will expand opportunities for exporters across sectors such as agricul-ture, textiles, pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, and services including IT, IT-enabled services, business solutions, education, construction, and healthcare." He added that reduced tariffs and simplified procedures will enhance competitiveness in the New Zealand market. The agreement is expected to unlock new bilateral trade avenues and offer strong growth potential for MSMEs, enabling them to access a high demand market for quality goods and services while supporting long term export diversification and future economic resilience overall. India and Africa are tran-sitioning into a new and decisive phase in their bilateral relations, with both sides aiming to elevate ties to a higher and more substantive level, according to Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita. Speaking at an event at Bharat Mandapam, he high-lighted that India and Africa Narendra Modi is set to attend the concluding event marking Sikkim's 50th statehood anniversary and is expected to launch projects worth Rs.4,000 crore. Currently on a two day visit to the Himalayan state, he will visit the orchidarium at Swar-najayanti Maitri Manjari Park in the morning, which has been developed into a global destina-tion for orchid viewing. Extensive security arrange-ments have been made across the capital and nearby areas. The Prime Minister will then visit Paljor Stadium for the main event, where he will inau-gurate multiple development projects and address the gath-ering, covering sectors such as infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, education, energy, tourism, agriculture, urban de-velopment, and environmental sustainability initiatives across the region to support long term growth prospects.
