| | JULY 20268The Food Safety and Stan-dards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued notices to Lotte India, Ferns N Petals, and Kuber Foods over alleged labelling violations and mislead-ing product claims. The companies have been asked to respond within a week after inspections identified mul-tiple instances of non-compli-ance. FSSAI warned that failure to provide satisfactory explana-tions could invite action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The regulator found that Lotte India used outdated pre-printed labels without ap-proval, displayed potentially mis-leading vegetarian claims, and omitted mandatory nutritional information on certain products. It also flagged packaging featuring fruit images despite lacking fruit ingredients and missing front-of-pack dis-claimers, stressing the need for accurate, transparent, and consumer-friendly food label-ling practices across all products consistently.
