| | SEPTEMBER 20269PhonePe unveiled its growth plan at the Global Fin-tech Fest 2026, wherein it's Founder and CEO Sameer Nigam talked about its mission of providing more accessibility and technology to finance. The "Sachetization Philosophy" of the company is centered on its endeavor to transform big finan-cial obligations into easy-to-pay everyday habits, via products like Daily FD, Gold, Silver, and Mutual Fund SIPs. Nigam also spoke about the features of UPI Circle, CRISP for instantaneous market intelli-gence, and credit underwriting via artificial intelligence that could approve loans in just 2.5 minutes. The company is also building a strong ecosystem of merchants through its new products like Business App, SmartConnect, SmartStore, Smartpages, and AI Integration Agent. PhonePe unveiled its new product, PhonePe Pulse Pro, which provides hy-per-local intelligence based on 11 billion monthly transactions. Food Corporation of India (FCI) and the Ministry of Food & Public Distribution (MD-PFD) have signed an MoU in the year 2026-27 intending to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the management of foodgrain. The agreement establishes measurable objectives for storage, transportation, lo-gistics, quality management, application of technology and resource usage. Some of the key ob-jectives include reduction in storage losses, optimal utilization of warehouse capacity, and improved logis-tics. This MoU also includes promotion of digitization and modern information technology. Skills develop-ment and capacity building of employees also forms part of the agreement. Per-formance of FCI depots will also be measured using the Depot Darpan Portal. The Adani Group and IHC of Abu Dhabi have signed agreements with the Odi-sha government on exploring 14 projects with an overall investment of Rs.2.1 trillion. These projects are estimated to generate around Maharashtra Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, has reiterated that three State-Owned Electricity Companies of Maharashtra, namely Mahatransco, MSEDCL, and Mahagenco, will not be privatized at all. Rather, the gov-ernment intends to improve their op-erational efficiency. This has resulted in MSEDCL becoming a focus area of attention. The restructuring of the company has been approved in order to address its large debt and ensure its efficient service delivery. Meanwhile, plans are being prepared for conducting an Initial Public Offering (IPO), which will further improve transparency and access to finance. The government may consider franchise agreements only in those areas where distri-bution losses have persisted. It is further planned to increase power generation capacity by about 20,000 MW in the coming five years. Other projects under consideration include a renewable energy equipment manufacturing zone, shipyard & repairs zone, petrochemi-cal and packaging park, and critical minerals park.
