Could you give a brief account of your professional background and experiences?
Embarking on my professional journey with a BSc in Physics and an MBA from NMIMS Mumbai, I furthered my executive MBA at XLRI. Joining Tech Mahindra in 1995 as a fresh HR Professional marked the beginning of a 16-year tenure, witnessing the organization's remarkable growth from 400 to 80,000 employees. Progressing from a Fresh HR Professional to an HR Strategic Consultant I collaborated closely with company leaders, aligning HR strategies with organizational goals and further, explored international assignments in various countries. My journey continued at Sandoz Pharmaceutical company, where I handled senior HR Business
Partnering for all Corporate Functions, leading performance management and compensation for multiple business units in India. Subsequently, I played a pivotal role in harmonizing HR policies and establishing a global compensation benefit organization for Novartis in India. Fueled by a passion for people management, I founded Christos Consulting, a merger with its subsidiary Sperton Consulting, a global organization based in Norway.

You possess over twenty-five years of experience. How has been your path to success and what is your success mantra?
My path to success involves two key mantras. Firstly, progress is achieved by reflecting on past experiences. Secondly, leading by example involves aligning personal behavior with the desired traits of employees, fostering a supportive work culture. Surrounding oneself with the right people is crucial, eliminating the blame game, learning from mistakes, and investing in personal and team development. Acknowledging and building on strengths respecting others, and recognizing success as a collective achievement contribute to a holistic success strategy, and having a mentor or coach during challenges is invaluable. These principles guide my journey.

How would you define Sperton Christos Consulting as an organization and its current position in the market?
Sperton Christos Consulting, a part of a global organization with a presence in 15 countries, operates under my leadership in India. Our core objective is to facilitate companies in enhancing business growth and process efficiency cost-effectively. Collaborating closely with clients, we not only meet but exceed expectations. As a global recruitment and people management entity, we guide organizations comprehensively from recruitment to HR strategic advice, ensuring seamless global mobilities. Our support extends to startups, covering legal compliance, entity setup, HR function establishment, and payroll management, offering a comprehensive array of services.

Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines/methodologies you follow as a leader?
I prioritize both organizational and personal growth, adopting a
transformational leadership style. Transparency and clear communication are fundamental in my approach, fostering a culture of commitment. I ensure everyone comprehends their goals and the path to achieving them, eliminating confusion. This approach instills a collective commitment to our work and encourages a unified organizational effort.

What future destination are you heading towards?
Defining the organization's purpose, values, and culture is paramount in charting our future course. Once established, the focus shifts to agility, staying abreast of industry dynamics, and swift decision making. Accepting occasional mistakes, it's crucial to keep progressing. The key lies in assembling a skilled team, and leveraging technological advancements, particularly in data collection and artificial intelligence. As a global entity, technological investments align with our growth strategy. The focus lies in being purpose driven, culturally grounded, agile, and technologically aligned for sustained growth with evolving industry landscapes.

In light of your strong experience within the industry, what advice would you give to budding industry leaders?
For emerging industry leaders, addressing fear factors is paramount. Don't hesitate to act; overcoming natural challenges requires preparation and a team oriented approach. Define clear goals and mile stones, working collaboratively with the right people. Embrace mistakes as part of the learning process, and prioritize networking with business leaders. Crafting a well-thought-out business plan and wise financial management are key. Listening to quality information is essential while balancing professional and personal growth, including health, and ensures holistic success on your leadership journey.
