Google Cloud to Collaborate with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology

Google Cloud is keen on working with the Centre on the IndiaAI Mission and is exploring ways to collaborate with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. One of the reasons we set up the Delhi region was to service public sector needs. The next phase is the AI mission opportunity, where we are closely working with the government Bikram Singh Bedi, vice-president and India managing director.
The public sector, government, firms collaborating with the government, and other government-controlled industries, such as finance, continue to be Google Cloud's primary focus areas.
Having control over all four levels of the artificial intelligence stack enables the company to enhance solutions for its clients more effectively. This is achieved by fine-tuning and optimizing the offerings to meet customer needs.
India ranks as one of the fastest-growing markets for Google within the Cloud services sector.
The organization has witnessed “greater uptake” of its products across various sectors, including public sector, government organizations, small and medium enterprises, and digital-native firms.
As of now, the only model hosted in India is the Gemini 1.5 Flash, but according to Bikram Singh Bedi, vice president and country MD at Google Cloud India, newer versions will also be offered locally with refresh cycles every 12 months.
Regarding the Rs 10,000 crore IndiaAI Mission, the government is offering subsidised AI computing resources to startups and researchers, and the company is collaborating closely with the government on this initiative and is eager to participate.
