Separator

Mira Aerospace, a collaboration between Bayanat and UAVOS focusing on High Altitude Pseudo-Satellite (HAPS) development, has partnered with VEDA Aeronautics, an Indian Aerospace & Defence firm specializing in Unmanned Systems, to deliver cutting-edge HAPS solutions tailored for the Indian market.

In this partnership, Mira Aerospace will integrate its advanced ApusNeo HAPS technology with VEDA Aeronautics' domestic development expertise. The resulting solution will cater to both Indian Defence and civilian sectors. As per the agreement, the companies aim to introduce a tailored HAPS platform for the Indian market by the first half of 2024. Prior to this collaboration, Mira Aerospace and VEDA Aeronautics conducted test flights within Indian airspace, featuring a technology demonstrator HAPS unit flying in the Indian stratosphere. This test remains the sole instance of such a flight in India thus far.

VEDA Aeronautics has recently engaged in the Make-1 project, a venture initiated and financed by the Indian Air Force. In this endeavor, the company is tasked with conceptualizing and creating a High Altitude Pseudo-Satellite (HAPS) system capable of transporting a payload of at least 35 kilograms and maintaining operational capabilities at an altitude of 18,000 meters for a duration of 30 to 45 days. Through collaboration with Mira Aerospace, the HAPS developed under the Make-1 project holds promise for strategic and enduring surveillance of the Indian borders.

Hasan Al Hosani, Managing Director of Bayanat, said, “We see India as an important market in Mira Aerospace’s international growth strategy. Covering huge areas of diverse terrain, we see a clear opportunity to provide cutting-edge, AI-powered geospatial solutions to our partners in the region. The collaboration between Mira Aerospace and VEDA Aeronautics demonstrates the growing need for intelligent geospatial solutions, and we are excited to expand into the Indian market and showcase our world-leading, specialized solutions”.

Dipesh Gupta, Managing Director of VEDA Aeronautics, said, “We are thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with Mira Aerospace, which marks a significant milestone in India’s journey towards accelerating the deployment of HAPS technology. This endeavor underscores our unwavering commitment to innovation, heralding a new era of technological advancement and strategic prowess in the aerospace domain".
