Anish Malvania

CEO

In the mid nineties, the induction furnace industry was dominated by giants in this sector who were the only ones to cater to the needs of spare parts as OEMs to the industry. During his brief stint in the field of servicing induction furnaces, Anish Malvania, CEO, Indtech Marketing visualized a gap in this field. He observed that the industry was in immediate need of alternative sources of quality spares for induction furnaces. Driven by the confidence in his vision, Anish pioneered a business model built solely around induction furnace spare parts in the country and successfully created an environment that motivated many other entrepreneurs to enter the field. His establishment Indtech Marketing helped users to get other options and overcome the monopolistic practices of OEMs.

Under his leadership and extensive knowledge related to induction furnaces and various facets of this very specialized field, Indtech, for the last 30 years, has been supplying furnace spares to more than 27 countries and has gained the trust and faith of customers across the world for its optimal service, excellent product quality, and timely deliveries.

Recollecting on Indtech and its journey, Anish speaks volumes regarding the company during an exclusive colloquy with CEO Insights. Let’s hear it from him.

How would you define Indtech Marketing as an organization and its current position in the market?
Technical knowledge and competence, the inclination to guide the end-user without bias, the belief and confidence to disagree if and when necessary, and operational and commercial transparency are some of the core foundations on which Indtech was built. And we continue to diligently follow these without compromise. These ethics have helped us in gaining and
consolidating our position as the leading organization in this field over the years. Indtech Marketing is certified with ISO 9001:2015 by a German Company, TUV SUD, since 2008. Also, we have a credit rating certificate from SMERA.

Surmounting challenges and offering clients solutions that are commercially viable, technically feasible, and within acceptable time frames is a continuous challenge and a big motivating factor

Tell us about your leadership approach.
As a leader, I believe in an approach that is based on open communication. At Indtech, we focus on actively fostering open communication and leading by example, which cultivates a culture of commitment and trust across the company. The decision-making authority is shared across all levels, and all personnel have the right to exercise autonomy within their respective jurisdictions to make decisions accordingly.

What is the motivation that fuels your daily routines?
This industry throws up new challenges on a daily basis. Surmounting challenges and offering clients solutions that are commercially viable, technically feasible, and within acceptable time frames is a continuous challenge and a big motivating factor.

Going forward, what are the changes in market behavior that you anticipate and what are the opportunities that you foresee?
Steel is one of the most important
products of the modern world and is of strategic importance for any industrial nation. But its high capital intensity, high dependence on bulk raw materials, cyclical growth trends, perpetual over-capacity, and relatively low profitability cause problems that are generally complex requiring larger interventions for sustainable growth. The cyclic nature of the steel industry entails constant strategy modifications and resilience. However, the trend toward globalization of the marketplace continues to escalate, resulting in competitive challenges and market opportunities. Globalization of the market for Indian-made induction furnaces has opened up opportunities that help overcome regional ups and downs. Given also the fact that the steel and its related raw materials markets are globally integrated today, the growth opportunities also depend on how the industry shapes up in the rest of the world.

In light of your strong experience within the industry, what advice would you give to budding industry leaders?
To emerge as leaders in this globally competitive industry, aspirants must develop unbeatable core competence, stick to their goals, cultivate impeccable business ethics, and keep continuously open lines of communication with clients to gather feedback about the practical operations of the product.
