How has your entrepreneurial journey been so far?
Having the privilege of leading Galena Metals a third generation family enterprise, is a privilege deeply ingrained in my heritage. Our journey began with my visionary grand father & his brothers , and it continued to flourish under the stewardship of my father, alongside his cousins. The roots of this business run through generations, and I often say that entrepreneurship runs through my veins.

My pursuit of knowledge led me to pursue an MBA in entrepreneurship at Fairleigh Dickinson University in the United States. During this time, I gained invaluable experience working in the bustling financial hub of New York City, at an esteemed investment bank. Yet, the entrepreneurial fire that had always burned within me refused to be extinguished. It was a calling I couldn't ignore. In November 2008, I made the pivotal decision to return home and assume the mantle of leadership within our family business. Moreover, at 82, my father remains actively engaged in our operations, passing on a wealth of wisdom and experience. Together, we are poised to propel Galena Metals into the next phase of its remarkable journey, driven by a blend of tradition, innovation, and a passion for excellence.

How would you define Galena Metals as an organization and its current position in the market? What is the unique proposition that your organization offers to clients?
The enduring driving force behind our business is profound.As a third-generation custodian of this legacy, I've witnessed the relentless dedication, the sheer reservoir of sweat, and the countless tears that have nourished our enterprise. These elements are crucial to our brand's recognition and form the foundation of the enduring values established by our founding members. What truly touches our hearts is when people return, years later, with stories of how they stumbled upon our products and now seek to reconnect with us. It's a testament to the lasting relationships we've fostered, grounded in trust and quality. Our unwavering commitment is encapsulated in our motto. And we bend over backward to ensure that every client receives precisely what they need, at the right price, an example of our dedication and customer-centric approach.

Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines or methodologies you follow as a leader?
My leadership style is founded on transparency and approach ability. I value a peaceful and people-centric demeanour. From the diligent worker on the factory floor to the custodian of cleanliness in our facility, everyone knows they can reach out to me at any hour if they encounter a problem. There are no barriers. I prioritize the well-being of our team, addressing their medical needs and facilitating educational planning for their children. In critical tasks where safety is paramount, I'm hands-on, standing alongside my workers. For less critical projects, I empower them with autonomy, setting clear objectives and fostering a collaborative, friendly atmosphere that transcends traditional hierarchies.

In light of your strong experience within the industry, what advice would you give to budding industry leaders?
My sincere advice centres on client-centricity and fostering open, honest relationships. Clients are the bedrock of any business; they're akin to deities. By consistently delivering quality products at fair prices, client loyalty is nurtured, ensuring they return time and again. Treat your entire ecosystem, including suppliers, with firm honesty and transparency. This ethos propels you forward as they, in their unique ways, become allies in your journey.

Embrace challenges with an open mind. I recall a client's skepticism about India's capabilities during the ‘Make in India’ period. It was a pivotal moment. We accepted the challenge, promising results in six months. We not only met but exceeded expectations.This commitment to transparency, backed by action, solidified our client relationships, demonstrating that with determination, even the loftiest goals can be realized.
