Could you give a brief account of your professional background and experiences? What is the motivation that fuels your daily routines?

My professional journey has been a unique blend of revolution, passion, and continuous learning. Initially opting for English literature against the conventional engineering or medicine path favoured by my Indian parents was a rebellious choice. While pursuing my degree, my interest in music led me to a second undergraduate degree in the field. Simultaneously, my involvement in teaching fitness classes at a community center sparked a profound passion for
fitness. Embarking on a career at Virgin Active as a personal trainer marked the beginning. Transitioning through various management roles, I explored different facets of the fitness industry. A detour to a fitness startup further enriched my experiences, where I assumed diverse roles contributing to the startup's growth. Returning to Virgin Active postCOVID challenges, I navigated the complexities and ascended through promotions.

My current role as the National Product (PT) Manager for the UK at Virgin Active underscores my commitment to continuous growth and development. Each morning, fuelled by an insatiable drive to expand my knowledge in my field, I am propelled by the belief that there is always more to discover, embracing each day with enthusiasm and purpose.

What unique experiences does the University of Cambridge England offer, and what lessons extend beyond academics?

Beyond the academic rigors at the University of Cambridge, it's the richness of human connections that truly distinguishes the experience. Interacting with luminaries across diverse sectors - be it consulting, government, or technology, offered invaluable insights surpassing textbook knowledge. These encounters expanded my intellectual horizons, fostering a lifelong network of relationships. The chief lesson learned transcends simple theories: the profound significance of cultivating relationships and leveraging collective experiences. Cambridge instilled in me the under-standing that one's network is a cornerstone of personal and professional growth, enriching both individual and communal journeys.

How would you define Virgin Active as an organization and its current position in the market?

Virgin Active has evolved significantly since my start in 2012. It's driven by a noble cause, aiming to combat the obesity crisis and reduce healthcare expenses. We're proactive in preventive health, aiming to stop health issues before they arise. Our recent efforts go beyond just fitness, focusing on overall well-being, including nutrition and staff training. In today's competitive market, we've
improved our offerings across the board, from classes to products. We're now better positioned to compete, by offering comprehensive facilities and topnotch value.

Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines or methodologies you follow as a leader?

My leadership approach is deeply rooted in both personal experience and the wisdom gleaned from exemplary mentors. Clear communication is paramount, ensuring everyone understands our mission and targets. I foster a supportive environment, bridging teams to prevent silos, especially across our 32 clubs. Drawing from frontline experience, empathy guides my actions, addressing challenges with understanding and healing conflicts swiftly. I embrace servant leadership, valuing input and acting on it. Open discussions align individual performance with collective goals,- fostering collaboration and purpose-driven initiatives. Anticipating issues proactively and prioritizing wellbeing sustains success, intertwining personal growth with organizational objectives. Moreover, by prioritizing people's needs and aligning them with business goals, we achieve enduring success.

What is the future destination you are heading towards?

My future destination is guided not solely by financial gains but by staying true to my core principles. Amidst competitors flocking to the industry, I advocate for a different approach—listening to clients, members, and customers. Success lies not just in revenue, but in offering something valuable that resonates with people. I emphasize adaptability, constantly listening, and remaining agile. By reflecting on feedback and evolving, we can carve out a niche within the sector and deliver a successful product. My journey is not just about reaching a destination but about staying committed to principles and continuously striving for excellence in both product and company.
