"This is not an era of war, but this is also not an era of terror," declared the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation for the first time to the public days of intense shelling and aerial incursions from both sides. In a firm warning to Pakistan, the Prime Minister asserted that terror and dialogue cannot coexist in tandem and stated that Operation Sindoor was India's New Policy on Terror. The Prime Minister said, “Water and Blood Cannot Flow Together”, indicating that Pakistan may eventually fall owing to its ongoing support of terrorism. A strong message was delivered by PM Modi on Nuclear Blackmail that said "No nuclear blackmail will be tolerated anymore”. At the same time, India’s Military Response to Pakistan showed the world that it will defend its citizens without waiting for permission. India’s strikes on Terror Camps rang thunders around the world showing that every inch of Pakistan was under reach.

In his first national speech since the May 7 missile strikes, which came after the horrific attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Modi stated on April 22 that India is still committed to fighting terrorism. He emphasized that India would closely watch Pakistan's future activities and that the interim ceasefire, mediated by international diplomatic efforts, was the result of Pakistan's urgent request for de-escalation.

He maintained that India's counterterrorism efforts, shown by Operation Sindoor, are a clear message to Pakistan, saying, "We have set a new normal." He added that the operation aims to ensure that people who support terrorism face consequences in addition to targeting terrorist hideouts.

An Account on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Response to India-Pakistan Conflict

Following the incident in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians, Operation Sindoor was initiated. Due to their religious beliefs, many of the victims—all but one tourist—were targeted in front of their loved ones. Modi said he was personally distressed by the attack and said it was an attempt to sabotage social harmony and unity in India.

Firm Stance on Nuclear Blackmail

India's stance against cross-border terrorism and its resolve in the face of perceived threats were emphasized in the international coverage of Prime Minister's post-Operation Sindoor address. The PM's aggressive rhetoric, especially his threats of nuclear blackmail and his announcement of a "new normal" in India's counterterrorism strategy, was emphasized by international media.

The Prime Minister did not acknowledge the involvement of foreign actors in bringing about the agreement, despite Pakistani officials' assertion that US officials helped negotiate the ceasefire. Instead, he insisted that after Indian strikes had damaged its military facilities, Pakistan took the initiative and urged the international community to de-escalate the situation.

Affirmed India’s Position on Future Negotiations With Pakistan

He also reaffirmed India's position on future negotiations with Pakistan, saying that they will only cover the disputed area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and terrorism. He emphasized that India will not distinguish between the Pakistani state and the terrorist organizations it is accused of supporting, nor will it accept any kind of nuclear blackmail.

"Terror and talks cannot go together, terror and trade cannot go hand in hand," Modi asserted.

"Water and blood cannot flow together."

He proceeded by warning that Pakistan may eventually fall owing to its ongoing support of terrorism.

The prime minister expressed pride in his nation's military prowess, especially in light of its in-house defense systems.

“The world now recognizes that the time for Made-in-India defense equipment in 21st-century warfare has arrived,”

He pointed out that Pakistani drone and missile attacks have been successfully thwarted by India's air defenses.

Drew Parallel between Buddha’s Teachings and India’s Approach to International Relations

Buddha Purnima, a day that honors the birth, enlightenment, and demise of Lord Buddha, coincided with the PM’s speech to the country. Drawing a parallel between the teachings of Buddha and India’s approach to international relations, Modi said, “The path of peace also follows from the path of strength”.

In addition to saying that India's unity against terrorism would be a potent example, he urged the world to take note of India's position that its strength is essential to its pursuit of peace.

How India Proved to the World its Strength and Patience

Through its actions in this conflict, India was able to successfully accomplish three important goals: political, military, and psychological.

A New Paradigm in Attacking Both Terrorists and their Supporters

India showed a willingness to launch an attack deep into Pakistan's heartland by altering the parameters of engagement. India adopted a new paradigm by attacking both terrorists and their supporters, shattering the idea that they are distinct entities.

Attacked in Never-Set-Foot-Before Terror Hotspots

Even the US had not stepped to send its drones to Bahawalpur or other critical terror hotspots when India launched its attack. India has stated unequivocally that if terror comes from its territory, neither the Line of Control nor the territory inside Pakistan are off-limits. India has demonstrated to the world through its attacks that it can reach every part of Pakistan.

In response, India declared a change in doctrine toward calibrated deterrence. Pakistan can no longer disregard the red line that Operation Sindoor has drawn: terrorism as state policy will have specific, obvious repercussions.

Proved Supremacy in Technology and Strategy

Pakistan's air defense grid was effectively overcome or thwarted by Indian forces. With no losses allegedly recorded, Indian Rafale jets carrying HAMMER bombs and SCALP missiles carried out the mission, showcasing their supremacy in both technology and strategy. India served as an example of how contemporary air defense is constantly changing. India used a strong, multi-layered architecture to protect its own airspace. By destroying hundreds of Pakistani drones and missiles, the Akashteer Air Defence System demonstrated its effectiveness and is currently positioned as a potential export to other countries.

India proved to the world that it will defend its citizens without waiting for authorization. It also demonstrated that there is nowhere for terrorists and their leaders to hide. In past confrontations, the majority of nations would come to India and request caution as soon as something against Pakistan started to go out of hand. But this time, a number of international leaders joined India in its fight against terrorism.
