Research at REVA University has been recognized as the primary activity to enhance teaching learning process, and also to develop a unique identity as a university that has committed itself to address societal issues through the application of Science and Technology. The Research and Innovation division aims to continuously liaise with various funding agencies, R&D institutions, industries and faculty members of REVA University to facilitate for undertaking innovative research in cutting-edge areas of application and social relevance. It facilitates faculty members for interaction with scientists and experts in various fields and keeps abreast of the developments in respective areas and exchange ideas for development and innovation. It promotes research culture in the university, formulates research policies, identifies thrust areas of research, provides training to young faculty members in preparing research proposals/writing technical article and encourages inter disciplinary research. The rigorous course works followed by comprehensive progress review meetings make the research program at REVA truly competitive. The university with its modest beginning has a grand vision to be recognized as a university committed to applied research towards societal issues.
2. What are the measures taken by your college to ensure that the students pursuing various courses at REVA University acquire the necessary skills to thrive in the industry?
REVA has made a modest beginning in research with the support of dedicated faculty members and research scholars, and has set an ambitious vision of becoming one of the best universities that cater to societal needs. It has initiated research in 18 disciplines under Engineering, Science & Technology, Commerce, Management Studies, Education and Arts & Humanities. It has also facilitated an INSA Senior Scientist Prof. H Junjappa to setup a synthetic organic chemistry lab to carry out core research activities Heterocyclic and Aromatics.
The university has over 350 faculty members engaged in active research in varied areas of specializations. The majority of these researchers are young and enthusiastic in pursuing research in cutting edge technologies of social relevance. As a new university intending to orient itself towards research, it has research programs leading to Ph.D. degrees in various disciplines. Presently, nearly 170 registered Ph.D. scholars are working on various problems relating to Engineering, Architecture, Science & Technology, Commerce, Management Studies, Legal Studies, Education, Arts and Humanities. The university is committed to promote research and learning,thus providing an opportunity for a large band of students to work on research oriented projects under the guidance of faculty members. This is achieved through the formation of research circles involving students from different disciplines to develop teams of inter disciplinary studies and research.
