    Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) ensures compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures within an organization. It is his duty to make sure that organization has efficient guidelines, policies and procedures that reflect the organization's unique characteristics and are well under understood and followed by all its employees. CCO reports to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on daily basis. CCO's duty is not restricted only to developing compliance he should revise it periodically and oversee &monitor its implementation. He should be thorough with local, state and federal accounting & auditing compliance laws, employment & educational regulatory requirements, guidelines, and procedures for the administration of federal and state laws on civil rights. He should also be able to interpret and advice on the application of various laws and regulations. Soft skills like ability for an independent judgment, managing & imparting confidential information, supervisory skills, employee development skills, leadership skills, critical thinking skills, detailed analyzing ability, and strong interpersonal & communication skill are also very important for the COO job.
