
EV Sales in India Rise 28.6 Percent to 1,80,238 in June: FADA

The Federation of Automobile Dealers' Association (FADA) indicates that the huge increase in e-passenger vehicle volumes was the primary driver of India's electric vehicle (EV) sales, which increased 28.60 percent to 1,80,238 units in June compared to the same period last year.
FADA data claims that sales of electric passenger vehicles increased by 79.95 percent year over year to 13,178 units in the previous month from 7,323 e-PVs in June 2024.
According to the report, the proportion of e-passenger vehicles in the total electric vehicle market increased from 2.5 percent in June 2024 to 4.4 percent in June 2025.
60,559 electric three-wheelers were sold during the reviewed month, a 15.79 percent increase over the 52,302 sold during the same period the previous year.
The demand for e-three-wheelers increased to 60.2 percent of all EVs in June 2025, up from 55.4 percent in the same time the previous year, according to FADA data.

Compared to the 80,003 e-two-wheelers sold in June 2024, retail sales of electric two-wheelers increased 31.69 percent to 105,355 units on June 25, according to the car dealers' association.
Retail sales of electric commercial vehicles increased 12.5 percent year over year during the time under review, from 515 units in June 2024 to 1,146 units during the period under review, according to FADA.

"In June 2025, electric two-wheelers commanded 7.3 per cent of the market, up from 5.8 per cent a year ago, demonstrating growing consumer confidence in EV technology. Electric three-wheelers now account for over 60 per cent of all three-wheeler sales, cementing their role in last-mile connectivity, while PV, EV penetration rose to 4.4 per cent and electric CV doubled to 1.56 per cent YoY," he said.
"This innovative initiative is driving record EV sales nationwide and paving the way for a cleaner, smarter, and self-reliant mobility future for India by promoting domestic innovation and expanding charging infrastructure," he continued.
