As of now, VehicleCare has its presence across India with work shops in Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jhansi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Faridabad, and Pune. Alok Srivastava is the Chief Business Officer of the company and his domain expertise and experience have helped Vehiclecare to climb unprecedented heights in the industry.

In an exclusive interview with CEO INSIGHTS, Alok talks more about his professional journey and the unique business operations of Vehiclecare.

Give us a brief detail about your educational and professional background and how has it helped you in your journey?
I am a Mechanical Engineering Graduate and I am also an Insurance Brokership Certificate Holder from Ritu Nanda College of Insurance. Backed by technical education as well as Insurance Educations support, it has been easier for me to understand the engineering as well as insurance/commercial terminology. I have been able to foresee the job challenges from close technical angles and give them logical ends.

Since I have been associated with Maruti 4-Wheeler Segment in the field of operations like indenting, banking operations management, stocking, branch operations for sales/services, G.S.T., Service Tax,
I.T. Software selection & utilisation
etc. and also associated with insurance under writing,claims management, dealing with vehicle owners & surveyors etc., such experience has been an asset to give a fair help to push to my jobs, starting from Insurance to full-fledged G.M. Operations.

In your professional journey so far, which are the milestones that bestowed you with utmost satisfaction-both as an individual and as a Chief Business Officer? Also, what strategies do you implement to establish businesses that grow and last?
In my professional journey, I have attained deep knowledge & experience of four-Wheeler segments of other reputed competitors in sales, operations, spare part management and other activities. Hence, I could be able to handle problems & solutions etc. of Multi Brand Vehicles. Appreciably, I as an individual & as a Cofounder as well as C.B.O. of my Vehicle care Team, have coordinated to prepare website, software, channel wise operation & responsibilities manuals etc. Recently, we have successfully developed a Software for Insurance Management, which itself is transparent and Customer, Under writer, Workshop Staff, our own Insurance Team can see hourly progress & status of each individual related claim.

Soon after joining Vehicle Care, the Epidemic Covid-19 was widespread in mostly the whole of the country. Hence, most of the developmental and expansion plans were hampered. However, instead of sitting idle for relaxation in lockdown, we chose the option for sanitisation of Airport, Government and Private Establishments, Residential Colonies etc. Although, this service was free of cost but it helped us a lot to build up our new customers and to gain their confidence in our concept. This way, we kept our team in building
relations. Thus, we could open new avenues and prospective customers while our competitors could not think over these aspects.

Being a Chief Business Officer who gives strategic guidance and directions to the team, what different roles that you have been undertaking at Vehicle care?
We are equipped with a team of Co-Founders who have considerable and exclusive experiences in their own lines. The Co-Founder can individually or jointly give directions & guidance and support the team. As C.B.O. I have chalked out and coordinated in preparation of flow chart for stores management of spares, consumables and tools. The work flowchart is based completely on time management and any delay at any stage is answerable.

Having worked in different verticals of industries and gained experience with the industry trends, how does your experience help to chalk out business operations for the company?
Having been associated with Maruti, particularly in the operations field, I achieved considerable knowledge/ experience in Showroom Management, Indenting of New vehicles as per requirement in models/ segments/ colour etc., Upcountry Branch Office Sales/ Service Management, redressal of their problems, H.R. management etc. The experience in these fields has given me a strong stand to encounter the day-to-day challenges.

What emerging marketing trends have you identified that could affect our automotive industry? How are you gearing up your company in the coming future?
Adoption of sub-standard, duplicate spares and consumables etc. have been moral Hazards as damaging factors to the automobile industry. It has been observed that few of the workshops adopt such practices to encourage usage of such items, which results in the shake of vehicle owner’s confidence. Before going in Franchisee Agreement with a workshop, we also thoroughly judge the capacity and infrastructure on our own designed parameters so as to ensure that they will undertake our jobs and complete in time, quality and quantity.
