Can you give a brief detail about your educational and professional background?
I am an engineer with an MBA in marketing. Engineering gives you analytical understanding and MBA helps you to improve your management and business development skills. I started my professional journey as a sales manager at Targray Technology International and I was soon promoted to head the Indian operations of the company. Then, at Vikram Solar, I held the office of the president before becoming the CEO of Solis Group.

After a three-year stint at Solis, I worked as a Chief Marketing Officer at Adani Solar before my job in Saatvik Green Energy. Working for different companies and on
different aspects of the business has helped me to gain a holistic experience on running a business in the renewable energy sector. Taking companies, incubating them, and improving their growth trajectory is my forte, and I have done this in all the companies that I have been a part of. I have worked in various environments including startups, Indian & global companies, as well as manufacturing and project companies. All this helps me to take the business to the next level and helps me to come-up with innovative business strategies regardless of the situation.

We are focusing on all the segments of the industry, and our USP is that we focus on the end users of our products and their needs

What are the strategies that you are implementing Saatvik Green Energy to take the company to the next level?
Saatvik is a 500 MW (Megawatt) business and it is the largest modern manufacturer in North India. After taking over the company as the CEO, I am aiming to scale the business and develop it into one of the top three solar manufacturing companies in India. We are also looking at allied industries and get into storage and hybrid renewable energy businesses as well. We are looking at global expansions as well and want to scale the business and strive for forward and backward integration.

What are some of the most exciting projects that they have been a part of?
I have been blessed to have the career that I had, and over the course of my career, I have been part of some revolutionary projects in the renewable energy industry. Setting-up an efficient sales pipeline in Germany and Japan is one project that I was really excited for and the opportunity to sell Indian products made by an Indian company in these countries was a proud moment for me. Also, rapidly improving the business in the US for another company that I was working for was a huge project that I was a part of.

How has the pandemic affected
your business? Also, what are the future plans of the company?
Even though the pandemic has affected almost all industry verticals, when it comes to our organization, it has had a positive effect on us. Our operational style has helped us to deal with the situation, and the pandemic has also helped us to iron-out the various flaws in our system and this has helped us to improve our operations. Talking about the whole industry, the government has focused more on renewable energy business during the business and this has helped the players operating in this segment a lot. The government policies have been favorable for the entire industry as well and this has been a huge boost for us in terms for increasing our growth.

As far as future plans are concerned, we are adding another 500 MW more into our business and we are also setting-up our green field project in Gujarat where we are adding 1000 MW (1 Gigawatt) of manufacturing. We are also looking at forward integration as well and our long-term goal is to develop into a full service renewable energy company that can be a one-stop solution provider in the industry.

What separates you from the rest of the competition in the industry?
We are focusing on all the segments of the industry, and our USP is that we focus on the end users of our products and their needs. We keep their requirements in our mind when we come to manufacture our goods, and through this, we are aiming to transform this industry from a primarily B2B market to B2C.

How do you update yourself with the latest trends in the industry?
We have our team who are working on upgrading ourselves with the latest trends and innovations, and we work with different organizations that are working on unique products. This helps us to come-up with the best value for money products in the market. We are also constantly working on reducing our LCOE for the customers.
