Nvidia has received numerous proposals for potential locations to support its plan to significantly expand operations in Israel to meet the rising demand for artificial intelligence data centers. The Santa Clara-based Nvidia, now regarded as the most valuable company in history with a valuation of $4 trillion, recently issued a request for information (RFI) regarding land acquisition to establish a new campus close to its facility in northern Israel, with industry insiders estimating that it could cost billions of dollars and generate thousands of jobs.

Nvidia, a prominent designer of advanced AI chips, entered the Israeli market in 2020 after acquiring Mellanox Technologies for almost $7 billion.

The company operates in Yokne'am, a hub for many tech firms, situated near the northern port city of Haifa. The company received “numerous” proposals from municipalities and others, not exclusively around Haifa.

Nvidia has established a deadline of July 23 for proposals to develop its campus, which could cover up to 180,000 square meters.

For its part, the Haifa municipality stated that it is "currently busy preparing an attractive offer for the company. We believe we are the city with the best potential for them." A competition among Microsoft, Meta Platforms, Alphabet, and Tesla to establish AI data centers and lead in this emerging technology has resulted in heightened demand for Nvidia's premium processors.

One of the sources commented that Israel's expertise was "extremely important to the AI era," emphasizing the need for Nvidia to grow quickly.

The company has almost tripled its size in Israel since the Mellanox acquisition, which contributed an estimated $13 billion in revenue to Nvidia last year.

Nvidia has also made several other acquisitions in Israel over recent years, where it employs 5,000 individuals. Additionally, it has developed Israel's most powerful AI supercomputer, which served as a model for Elon Musk's Colossus supercomputer.
