How has your entrepreneurial journey been so far?
At the tender age of 6, while still in Class-I, I embarked on my first entre preneurial endeavor by crafting and selling paper camera models within my school. As I progressed through my education, I continued to explore my creativity, developing numerous innovative applications during my school days. Following my graduation from IIT Kharagpur, I ventured into various industry sectors, assuming roles as both an owner and a professional. Today, while continuing to build Growth Sense, a vibrant ecosystem for
startups, I proudly serve on the board of Suyog Telematics, holding the distinction of being a certified Independent Director accredited by IICA.
Could you tell us about the unique experiences IIT Kharagpur offers and what did you learn from the campus beyond academics?
I owe a great deal of my life's accomplishments to IIT Kharagpur. The campus life, the freedom to work tirelessly on projects, round-the-clock access to the library, and the guidance from exceptional professors have been transformative. The brand of IIT Kharagpur has been a constant source of support, providing me with higher priority and genuine respect wherever I go. Nearly everything I have achieved can be attributed to the invaluable experiences and opportunities I gained from my time at IIT Kharagpur.
How would you define Growth Sense as an organization and its current position in the market?
In the realm of virtual CEO and ownership, I discovered my true passion and strengths, giving rise to the innovative venture known as Growth Sense. Collaborating seamlessly with my colleague, Jimish Kapadia, our unique skillsets perfectly complement each other Jimish excels in networking, sales, and marketing, while I navigate the realms of strategy, finance, legal, IT, and more. As a thriving ecosystem for startups, Growth Sense provides holistic solutions, from idea validation to product development, investor readiness, and securing growth capital, all under one roof.
As a government recognized startup funded by prestigious angel investors and industry leaders, we prioritize trust and integrity. Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines or methodologies you follow as a leader?
My leadership approach centers around trust and genuine delegation. When I identify or train the right individual, I whole heartedly entrust them with ownership and duly acknowledge their accomplishments. My relationships with colleagues always commence with trust, and I maintain it unless proven otherwise. This philosophy has consistently led me to collaborate with exceptional individuals and build a strong, reliable team. By fostering trust and empowering others, I create an environment that nurtures talent and propels us toward collective success.
In light of your strong experience within the industry, what advice would you give to budding industry leaders?
My belief lies in the principle of treating others as I would like to be treated, which has proven instrumental in successfully navigating difficult deals and challenging situations. I am eager for every aspiring industry leader and entrepreneur to embrace this philosophy, as it leads to remarkable outcomes. Additionally, I strongly advocate following the four way test of Rotary International, which involves asking four crucial questions: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendship? Will it be beneficial to all concerned? This ethical compass has consistently guided me toward the best course of action, and I whole heartedly recommend it to fellow entrepreneurs and industry leaders.
