Top 10 Edtech Leaders - 2026
India's edtech sector has evolved from a pandemic driven phenomenon into a more sustainable, outcome focused industry. Valued at approximately $7.5 billion in 2025, the market is projected to reach $29 billion by 2030. This growth is said to be supported by rising digital adoption, increasing demand for employability focused learning, and continued investment in education technology.
The largest edtech categories include K-12 learning (40%), test preparation (27%), upskilling and online certifications (23%), and higher education (9%), reflecting India's strong focus on academic achievement and career advancement.
Several factors have fuelled the sector's growth. Affordable smartphones and low-cost mobile data have expanded internet access across urban and rural India, while government initiatives such as the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and digital learning platforms have accelerated technology adoption in education. A large youth population, increasing higher education enrolment, and growing demand for job-ready skills have further strengthened the market.
Looking ahead, the Indian edtech landscape is expected to shift toward AI-powered personalized learning, hybrid online-offline education models, workforce reskilling, and greater penetration into Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
