Originally from Andhra Pradesh, Naveen completed his graduation from IIT Dhanbad and always aspired to build something impactful as an entrepreneur. While exploring different career paths, he joined Whizdom Educare Pvt. Ltd. in Delhi as a Physics faculty member, an experience that became the turning point of his professional journey.
During his teaching years, Naveen closely observed a critical gap within India’s education ecosystem. While metropolitan cities had access to quality mentorship and concept-driven learning, students from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities often struggled with limited academic guidance and traditional rote-learning practices. He recognized that quality education was becoming increasingly expensive and inaccessible for many deserving students.
Driven by the vision of bridging this educational divide, Naveen founded Potencia Academy in Bathinda, Punjab, in 2016. What began as a mission to deliver quality coaching and mentorship at students’ doorsteps has today expanded into a growing academic network across six towns in Punjab.
Under Naveen’s leadership, Potencia Academy has evolved beyond a conventional coaching institute into a technology-driven learning ecosystem focused on conceptual clarity, analytical thinking, and holistic student development.

What inspired you to establish Potencia Academy, and how did your entre -preneurial journey shape your vision for transforming education?
I come from Andhra Pradesh, and after graduating from IIT Dhanbad, I always aspired to become an entrepreneur. While exploring different industries, I joined Whizdom Educare Pvt. Ltd. in Delhi as a Physics faculty member. During my teaching journey, I realized that quality education and proper mentorship were largely concentrated in metropolitan cities, while students from Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns lacked access to conceptual learning.
Many students were still dependent on rote memorization instead of analytical under standing. This gap inspired me to establish Potencia Academy in Bathinda, Punjab, in 2016. My vision was not just to create another coaching institute, but to build a complete learning ecosystem that combines quality mentorship, conceptual clarity, and technology-driven education to help students become confident, skilled, and future-ready individuals.
According to you, what are the biggest shortcomings of India’s traditional education system, and how is Potencia Academy addressing them?
One of the biggest shortcomings in India’s education system is the lack of conceptual clarity and practical application. Students often score high marks but struggle with implementing basic concepts because learning is still heavily based on memorization.
I have personally observed that many students fear subjects like Physics because they are not comfortable asking fundamental questions in large classrooms.
At Potencia Academy, we focus on removing this fear through small batch sizes, one-to-one interaction, and continuous mentoring. We emphasize analytical thinking, practical understanding, and motivational counselling alongside academics.
I believe teaching should go beyond completing a syllabus. Teachers must understand students psychologically, identify their learning barriers, and build their confidence. Our approach is centered on helping students understand concepts deeply rather than simply preparing them for examinations.
How do you believe technology and digital learning tools are reshaping student engagement and academic understanding today?
Technology is transforming education in remarkable ways, but I believe emotional connection and human mentorship remain equally important. At Potencia Academy, we focus on creating an environment where students are mentally prepared before learning begins.
Students come from different emotional and social backgrounds, and unless they are focused mentally, even the best technology cannot create meaningful impact. Along with personal mentoring we are integrating AI, AR, and VR technologies through our associated venture ScrollAR4u Technologies Pvt. Ltd. These technologies help improve conceptual visualization and make learning more interactive.
We are also building a hybrid learning ecosystem that combines offline mentorship with digital tools to enhance engagement and discipline. In my opinion, the future of education lies in balancing technology with human guidance rather than depending entirely on online or offline systems alone.
How is Potencia Academy aligning its teaching methodologies with the future ready vision promoted by the National Education Policy 2020?
The National Education Policy 2020 has encouraged institutions to move beyond exam-oriented education and focus more on skill development, creativity, and experiential learning. At Potencia Academy, we are actively adapting our academic structure to align with this vision.
We regularly conduct debates, critical thinking sessions, and problem-solving activities that encourage students to think independently.
I often discuss topics like artificial intelligence, future careers, and innovation to help students develop broader perspectives. We are also introducing skill enhancement modules alongside IIT-JEE and NEET preparation.
Additionally, we have strengthened our foundation programs for students in Classes 8, 9, and 10 because conceptual clarity should begin at an early stage. Our aim is to create learners who are not only academically strong but also capable of innovation, creativity, and leadership in the future.

Instead, we collaborate with both students and parents to identify the root causes and provide practical solutions. We also maintain complete transparency in academic performance and communication. Another important factor is creating a collaborative environment rather than unhealthy competition among students.
We recruit quality faculty members who focus not only on teaching but also on mentoring students emotionally and psychologically. I believe long-term educational impact comes from consistency, trust, mentorship, and genuine concern for student growth.

Beyond academics, we focus on one-to-one mentoring, motiva- tional counselling, emotional intelligence leadership activities, and extra -curricular participation. We also conduct regular parent-teacher interactions to understand students emotional and psycho-logical challenges.

My long-term vision is to make high-quality education accessible to students in Tier-2, Tier-3 cities, and smaller towns without forcing families to relocate to major educational hubs like Kota or Delhi. Every student deserves access to strong mentorship and conceptual learning, regardless of location. We plan to expand across Punjab and Haryana initially and later grow nationally.
At the same time, we are working on integrating AI-driven adaptive learning systems along with AR and VR technologies to make education more engaging and personalized.
