When discussions about the most beloved Grand Slams in tennis take place, one tournament that stands out above the rest is the legendary Wimbledon. Over its 138-year history, Wimbledon has seen countless memorable moments on the court, but it's clear that the high-profile audience it attracts contributes significantly to its popularity and success. Each year, a variety of celebrities, including members of royal families, renowned athletes, and artists, have graced Wimbledon, adding to the iconic nature of the matches played on the grass courts. The ongoing Wimbledon 2025 continues in this tradition, with an abundance of renowned personalities in attendance. Whether seated in the Royal Box by invitation from the organizers or attending on their own, the 138th edition of Wimbledon has welcomed many notable figures.

Now, let's look into the some of the most recognizable figures who graced the stands at Wimbledon 2025.

Sporting Stars

It is often said that game recognizes game, which was evident from the presence of numerous sporting legends who were seen on Centre Court and around the All England Club during the fortnight. Among them were professional boxer Anthony Joshua, Britain's most decorated diver Tom Daley, Dame Kelly Holmes, Sir David Beckham, and former England football managers Sir Gareth Southgate and Roy Hodgson CBE.

Famous Faces from the Entertainment World

From the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival to the Royal Box at SW19—Olivia Rodrigo took center stage in the Royal Box on the tournament's third day, enjoying an afternoon of tennis alongside her partner Louis Partridge. Throughout the week, several other well-known personalities were in attendance, including Academy Award nominee Richard E Grant, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, actors Glen Powell and Andrew Garfield, the legendary Sir Ian McKellen, and professional wrestler John Cena.

Tennis Icons

Though their professional tennis careers may have concluded, former tennis stars can’t resist the charm of SW19. Former world No. 1 and eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer returned to the very court where he celebrated the majority of his success throughout his career. The Swiss star accumulated eight of his 20 Grand Slam titles on the grass of South West London and was relishing his time back on Centre Court to witness the unfolding action. Meanwhile, tennis legend Billie Jean King and former US Open champion Andy Roddick were also present.

Many other notable figures, such as astronaut Tim Peake, physicist Brian Cox, survivalist Bear Grylls, and comedian Jack Whitehall, attended alongside professional footballer Anthony Gordon. Day eight brought even more laughter, with Michael McIntyre and Lenny Henry sitting together in the Royal Box. In another part of the venue, baking royalty Mary Berry watched the action unfold on Centre Court, alongside actual royalty with Princess Beatrice of York, the Duchess of York, and Frederik X King of Denmark all enjoying the tennis at SW19.

As the Wimbledon 2025 semifinal between Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner intensifies, the all-time champion Djokovic is preparing for a demanding challenge against Italy's world No. 1, Jannik Sinner, in their matchup on Centre Court. Djokovic, who has not secured a Grand Slam since winning three titles in 2023, is focused on his final efforts to achieve a record 25th Slam victory.

Having previously lost to Sinner in straight sets during the French Open 2025 semifinals, the Serb now faces an uphill battle, as Sinner holds a favorable head-to-head record against him, despite being 15 years younger. Both players have injury concerns ahead of the semifinal: Djokovic canceled his afternoon practice on Thursday after a significant fall during his quarterfinal win. The 38-year-old Djokovic slipped while trying to secure his second match point against No. 22 seed Flavio Cobolli, but he managed to rally and win the following two points to progress.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion was set to practice at Wimbledon’s Aorangi Park from 1 to 3 p.m., but the All England Club announced that the session had been called off. Djokovic had the option to reschedule his practice time on either indoor or outdoor courts, but as of early evening, he hadn't chosen to do so.

Sinner also canceled his practice session the day after injuring his right elbow during his fourth-round match against Grigor Dimitrov, although he managed to hit some balls in a 20-minute session at an indoor court afterward. He then went on to defeat No. 10 Ben Shelton in straight sets.
