For the first time in 187 years, Shailesh Jejurikar has become the first Indian president and CEO of global consumer giant Procter & Gamble (P&G)—the maker of brands such as Ariel, Pantene, Tide and others. Shailesh Jejurikar Becomes First Indian to Lead 187-Year-Old P&G

Jejurikar, the first Indian to hold the top position at the 187-year-old American multinational, will succeed Jon Moeller, who will take over as executive chairman in January 2026.

Jejurikar has advanced through the organization over the past 35 years, creating and expanding the company's primary operations in North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He has held a number of executive positions in both established and emerging economies over the years. He has experience in a variety of business divisions, including home care and fabric care, and in more recent years, he has been in charge of P&G's enterprise markets.

In 2021, he was appointed as P&G's first-ever COO. In this capacity, he was in charge of achieving outcomes in all markets and managed operations across numerous of the company's businesses worldwide. In addition to being a board member of Otis Elevator Co., a manufacturer of vertical transportation systems, he has been P&G's chief operating officer for the past six years.

Microsoft Names Aparna Kondaboina as New HR Head For MCAPS

Aparna Kondaboina has been named by Microsoft as the new Head of Human Resources for its Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) subsidiary in South Asia and India.

The strategic leadership shift is believed to reflect the tech giant’s focusing more on creating inclusive, future-ready teams in one of its fastest-growing areas.

 

Having spent more than 20 years in human resources, Kondaboina became a well-known name in Microsoft's executive team. She has overseen human resources initiatives at the Microsoft India Development Centre (IDC), where she was instrumental in growing the engineering operations of the business and promoting an innovative and diverse culture.

In her most recent position, Kondaboina is expected to oversee leadership development, employee engagement and talent strategies for Microsoft's commercial division. Her appointment is said to represent a larger reorganization of Microsoft's executive team in India and South Asia on utilizing digital innovation, AI and sustainable growth.

Various industry experts voiced out that Kondaboina's promotion is a clear indication of Microsoft's promise word to developing domestic leadership talent and reaffirming its people-first strategy for corporate change.

Hormel Makes Two Appointments for its Retail Business Leadership

Hormel Foods Corp. has picked two new executives for its retail division. Paul Peil, who has worked for the company for 35 years, has been chosen for the vice president role to oversee fresh and ready meat marketing. As for the vice president of marketing for snacking and entertainment, Christie Crouch, a seasoned marketing professional with a solid track record in the food business, has been elected.

Peil is expected to head the deli category for retail clients, fresh pork, Jennie-O, and the Hormel® Cure 81® brand in his new position. A little about Peil is that he began working for Hormel Foods in 1989 as a sales trainee and developed a lucrative career specializing in the marketing of meat products. There after he climbed the ladders of district sales manager, account executive, and retail sales representative. In 1997, he was appointed national accounts manager for fresh pork. In 2012, he was a director in charge of fresh-meat sales. In 2019, he was appointed director of sales for Jennie-O's retail division. In 2022, he took on his current role as value-added meats' associate vice president of sales.

Coming to Crouch, she is expected to be in charge of all brand-building campaigns for the company's assortment of snacking and entertainment products, such as Hormel® pepperoni, Planters®, Corn Nuts®, and Hormel Gatherings®. She brings more than two decades of expertise in general management, innovation, and brand strategy to Hormel Foods. Prior to her appointment, she was vice president and general manager at Conagra Brands, where she oversaw the integration and expansion of the Birds Eye brand, fostering innovation, improving the assortment, and honing marketing activation to fortify the brand's position in the frozen category. She has held vital marketing positions at Kraft Foods and Kellogg's earlier in her career.

Avangrid CEO Jose Antonio Miranda Announced Two Leadership Appointments

Leading energy provider Avangrid, Inc., a part of the Iberdrola Group, announced today two important leadership appointments: Sy Oytan as CEO of Avangrid Power and Joe Purington as CEO of Avangrid Networks. Both Purington and Oytan, who have years of Avangrid operational and leadership expertise, take on their positions with immediate effect.

Purington brings 28 years of experience at Central Maine Power in increasingly responsible capacities to his new position as CEO of Networks. Prior to that role in 2021, Purington was CMP's president and chief executive officer. Purington added the duty of managing and coordinating Networks' shared services, such as Planning & Regulatory, Customer Service, Operations, Gas, and Business Development, to his responsibilities last year.

On to the next, Oytan has held executive positions with international companies such as Arup, Siemens Gamesa, and Schlumberger, as well as independent power producers in Europe, before joining Avangrid. In over 24 years of experience, Oytan has led the development, building, and operation of over 10 GW of energy projects across the globe, including gas-fired combined cycle, wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal technologies.

Oytan has business administration executive education certifications from INSEAD and Yale University.  He graduated from Middle East Technical University in Turkey with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and Clemson University in South Carolina with a master's degree in industrial management.  His most recent position was Chief Operating Officer of Offshore at Avangrid.
