Recognizing the trailblazers who paved the way for a new generation of talented technologists is important. We intend to honor the pioneers of the Indian IT industry through this special issue.

We also perceive this special issue as an opportunity to pay tribute to Ratan Tata, who left this world in October last year. India lost one of its finest warriors. It’s a massive loss for the country, especially considering how his vision and drive to take this country forward would have helped our progress. India nurtures an ambitious dream of becoming a developed country by 2047. Ratan is someone who set benchmarks for representing India on the global stage. He became chairman in 1991 when the Tata Group was a collection of loosely connected businesses.
