It's quite evident that Asia is making long strides toward more connectivity. The internet revolution in India over the past seven years, spearheaded by Reliance Jio, has been an excellent example of this. Indian telecom users paid hefty charges for the internet before the Jio revolution. Within six months of Reliance Jio's launch, India became the top mobile-data user worldwide, consuming over 1 billion GB of data every month compared to 200 million GB earlier.

The rapid growth, development, and contribution of the telecommunication industry in any economy are a great
omen. It implies a favorable milieu arising in its business landscape as telecom is the technologically most advanced and important tool for sharing information and a base for establishing a financially valuable commodity market. That's exactly why the new turnarounds in the Indonesian telecom industry are important. According to the reports, PT Telkom Indonesia, the country's biggest telco, is set to combine its broadband and wireless businesses.

The mobile business ‘Telkomsel' has more than 176 million subscribers, while the fixed broadband service has more than 8.6 million subscribers under its IndiHome brand, which holds a market share of around 80 percent. The sprawling state owned tele communications company's reorganization comes as Indonesia is poised for growth in areas such as e-Commerce and financial technology. According to last year's Google report, the country's overall digital economy is set to double to $146 billion by 2025. This aligns with Indonesia's annual budget supporting 30 million small businesses using digital systems by 2024 to create a tailwind for entrepreneurs to thrive. In this issue, we tell stories of Indonesian entrepreneurs who lead by example.
