Executive Coach & Business Advisor

In today’s fast-changing world, executive coaching goes beyond leadership development to drive real, measurable change. The most effective coaches blend industry experience, technical expertise, and strategic insight to help leaders confidently navigate complexity. They use evidence-based methods and a stakeholder-centric approach to ensure that leadership growth is data-driven and results-focused. An engineer-MBA from premier schools (IIT Kanpur and IIM Ahmedabad) with significant global business leadership experience as a CEO, board member, and entrepreneur, coach and mentor Amitabha Sinha is driving this transformation.

Amitabha specializes in strategy, organization, and leadership development through coaching, consulting, and advisory. He helps build leadership capability and capacity in extremely uncertain times by using research-backed, stakeholder-centric methods for measurable outcomes. He also works with academic institutions, research organizations, and incubators to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs and businesses globally. He is passionate about demo -cratizing coaching and actively engages with non-profits that promote responsible social entrepreneurship.

In a personal interview with us, Amitabha shared his executive journey and shed light on his various challenges and life experiences.

What strategies do you employ to help leaders enhance their strategic thinking and decision-making skills?
The fundamental tactic is for people to be genuine. It is my responsibility to assist them in building on their strengths and changing their mindsets so they
may see that they are in charge of their circumstances. They perceive themselves as self- assured, confident change agents rather than as victims of their circum-stances. This method works for building both strategic thinking and decision-making. Thinking strategically entails keeping the end objective in mind at all times and relating actions to the bigger picture. Making effective decisions necessitates understanding the audience and context, and being sensitive and responsive to other people's needs and viewpoints rather than simply one's own.

Stand apart from the crowd, work smart, and persevere until you excel, and cultivate curiosity, courage, and conviction to achieve what you truly desire

Can you share a recent case study where you guided a leader through a major challenge?
I worked recently with a woman leader who was born in Germany and built a successful IT business in South Africa. Her company was acquired by an investment company that specializes in buy and-hold tactics to develop a growing portfolio. After the acquisition, she moved from running a business to identifying and managing acquisitions. She initially found it difficult to transition from a hands-on leadership approach to a role that called for a visionary outlook and influencing skills in addition to her expertise.

She described her coaching experience as "bringing sunshine" into her life and enabling her to view things like never before. She effectively managed five critical acquisitions and built a new team to carry on her work. Even seasoned investment bankers were surprised by her extraordinary ability to go from CEO to a powerful board member, with one commenting, "How could an actor become such a great director?" This can be regarded as one of my most amusing and challenging cases.

How do you keep up with the latest leadership trends and best practices?
I read a lot and have been on the advisory board of the Harvard Business Review (HBR), which I keep a close eye on. I also
regularly read The Economist and podcasts. Second, I'm interested in positive psycho-logy and read a lot of Martin Seligman's work, which is considered to be a pioneer in the field. Positive psychology tells us also about what we can do while traditional psychology helps us understand why we act the way we do. My coaching sessions and peers from across the world are a major source of learning for me.

What is the ultimate goal you are striving toward?
I hope to make a bigger contribution and a larger impact. I believe that all it takes to have a significant influence is a dedication to doing one's own job effectively.

At the moment, I am working with a group that supports grassroots projects and supporting social development entrepreneurs. This initiative helps develop local community leaders to build sustainable livelihoods in rural India. I believe I can make a difference.

Given your extensive industry experience, what guidance would you offer to emerging leaders?
Seeking continuous learning, particularly from those less experienced than you, is essential to succeeding in today's workplace. Even when the natural tendency is to depend on prior experience, learning is maintained by remaining humble, actively listening, and applying new insights. The younger generation redefines impact and creativity by utilizing digital platforms, photography, and social media in novel ways. Real change is fueled by their inventiveness and creativity, even while experience offers insight into previous approaches. Even something as basic as MasterChef demonstrates how drastically new methods change, demon -strating that remaining relevant requires flexibility and agility.
