Given that the pandemic has led to complete adoption of digital education, Vijeet along with his experienced team has designed activities and products based on experiential and hands on learning concept which bridges the learning gap that exists when a child goes to school or preschool. In an exclusive interview with CEO Insights team, Vijeet Pandey highlights what makes ClassMonitor a unique EdTech company.
Give us a brief detail about your educational and professional background prior to founding Class-Monitor.
I completed my Masters in Accounting and Finance from Aston University,UK in 2011. After spending 7 years in the UK early 2016 I moved back to India. I am also certified at Loss Prevention and Conflict Management.
Spearheading an EdTech start-up and India’s leading early learning platform, what are the major challenges you have faced so far and how did you overcome those challenges? What different roles do you undertake at ClassMonitor board to ensure that the company achieves its vision, mission and long term goals?
Currently I am the CEO of ClassMonitor. My day to day task involves operation, marketing and funding. These three are the different verticals that I am heading in the company.
In the initial days of starting the company we faced several problems, especially in a place like
Indore. From finding the right team to funding,everything seemed to be difficult. Hiring the right talent in a place such as Indore was very critical as the best talent people would have settled at bigger and metro cities. But with the network I had, we were able to bring a strong team on board. One should have the privilege of approaching the investors and hiring the right pool of talent so as to accelerate at the early stages.
What are the improvements and trends that you have been witnessing in the domain of EdTech? As a start-up empowering educators create an optimistic impact on students by enhancing their learning experience, how is Class Monitor positioned across this sector?
While most of the other startups are moving towards digital education, Class Monitor is one such startup that is restricting its users, usually kids from using gadgets for education. We also have technology element attached to our model but that is for adult or an educator. We have physical boxes that comprise of experiential learning based activities for kids which helps the children grow holistically in their initial stage of life.
Highlight the various solutions provided by ClassMonitor that gives it an edge over other competitors in the industry. Also elaborate on the methodology involved in the service execution.
While most of the other startups are moving towards digital education, ClassMonitor is one such startup that is restricting its users, usually kids from using gadgets for education. We also have technology element attached to our model but that is for adult or an educator. We have physical boxes that comprise of experiential learning based activities for kids which helps the children grow holistically in their initial stage of life.

There is no time limit for kids to finish off the activities provided by ClassMonitor. A fast learner will finish in less time and can go for the next, while slow learner takes little more time to finish IT

Each child has different learning abilities; some can learn things quick while some are slow at it. But for every child there is a solution at ClassMonitor. There is no time limit for kids to finish off the activities provided by Class Monitor. A fast learner will finish in less time and can go for the next, whiles low learner takes little more time to finish it. The focus here is not on the time but to finish it completely at one's own capability.
We have categorized the activities based on the age or class of the child and each activity includes experiential and hands on learning based elements which clears the concept of the child. We are trying to adjust the learning gap that usually exists when a child goes to school or preschool. We ensure that emotional element too is attached with our products. The activities at ClassMonitor are designed in such a way that the child needs to take parents support to complete them, in that way we are building a bond between parent and child which is missing out in e-learning method. We are on a mission to help improve early education by having a more efficient teacher, a more involved parent, and a highly motivated student.

In your professional journey so far, which are the milestones that bestowed you with utmost satisfaction both as an individual and as a CEO.
Our present team strength of more than 100 members gives me lot of personal satisfaction. I am content with the way my team helps me in growing the company and business. We are lucky enough to be surrounded by right set of people around us to guide using a right direction. With that,we not only focus on success but also on doing right things in a right way. In every step we take we lay a strong foundation for the company.
How do you update yourself with the latest technologies and trends in the EdTech Startup domain?
I am a regular reader who spends probably 20 minutes of everyday reading national and international news. As I am into the EdTech industry I tend to read more about the happenings in the education sector across the country. In addition to reading, having a network of startup founders cum my college mates add up to my updates. We all meet once in a while and discuss all the things that are happening within and outside the country.
We have categorized the activities based on the age or class of the child and each activity includes experiential and hands on learning based elements which clears the concept of the child.
