MakeMyTrip, Premier Inn to Boost Hotel Options for Indian travellers

After a recent collaboration with the biggest hotel chain in the UK, MakeMyTrip has expanded its selection of hotels abroad to include over 900 Premier Inn locations.
The change is intended to provide Indian tourists additional lodging options in major UK cities.
Premier Inn is well-known for its affordable accommodations and extensive network of locations around the United Kingdom.
“Over the past twelve months, we have pursued a focused strategy to deepen our international accommodation offerings across key hubs, particularly in long haul markets such as the UK, Europe, and the USA. These initiatives are beginning to show results, with a steady uptick in the value contribution of international stays on our platform. Our partnership with Premier Inn in the UK, one of the most preferred destinations for Indian travellers, is a key part of this strategy,” said Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder and Group CEO of MakeMyTrip.

MakeMyTrip's worldwide hotel portfolio is strengthened by this arrangement, which also helps the company meet the needs of its expanding outbound travel from India.
Through direct agreements with hotels in popular locations, MakeMyTrip has been attempting to grow its global hotel network. Over 2,000 directly contracted hotels in 50 locations across 20 countries have been added by the company in the last 12 months. Together, these destinations make for more than half of all Indian outbound travel.
As a member of the Whitbread Group, Premier Inn has hotels in Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. Indian travelers searching for trustworthy lodging overseas are anticipated to be drawn to the brand's extensive network and pricing structure.

“Connecting with MakeMyTrip is an exciting addition to our OTA partnerships and growth. It will drive increased awareness across India and surrounding markets for us, giving travellers even more opportunity to benefit from our unrivalled number of hotels across the UK, Germany and Ireland, ” said Tim Sleep, Director of Sales & Distribution at Premier Inn.
This move is an important part of MakeMyTrip's larger strategy to solidify its place in the global travel market as more Indians opt to take vacations and work abroad.
On the other hand, due to delayed planning, Indian rail passengers frequently have difficulty obtaining confirmed tickets; many finalize their trips considerably closer to the departure date. According to MakeMyTrip's data, almost 40 percent of customers visit the website more than once before making a reservation, even though reserved train tickets can be booked 60 days in advance. About 70 percent of these individuals wind up with tickets on a waitlist, mostly because confirmed seats aren't available by then. Weekly variations in demand have an impact on seat availability. High-speed trains usually sell out 13 days before to departure in April. As demand increased, confirmed tickets were being purchased more than 20 days in advance by May.
