A Paradigm Shift

It is no secret that over the past decade, the life and lifestyle of children have undergone tremendous transformations. The pandemic became a power catalyst in this transformation. On the flip side, workplace dynamics are also transforming in shut-eye time. Given the cut throat competition across industries, we can't really blame employers for expecting new candidates to be smart generalists go-getters producing outcomes beyond their technical or theoretical competence. But who are we kidding; the traditional higher education
systems in the country have their own limitations for equipping students for such an elite level of competition.

The whole teaching approach, pedagogy, and even students' learning models inevitably need to be revamped harmonically. The recent developments in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi are an excellent omen toward embracing this need for change. IIT Delhi is set for a complete curriculum to revamp all courses after over a decade. The new curriculum will be designed keeping in mind the rapidly changing knowledge and technology landscape. Indeed, the institute has formed a panel for the curriculum review for all courses.

Established as the College of Engineering in 1961, around 54,000 students have graduated from IIT-Delhi in various disciplines since its inception, including Engineering, Physical Sciences, Management, and Humanities and Social Sciences. The institute is also well known for its robust alumni network that comprises scientists, technologists, business managers, entrepreneurs, and whatnot. This special issue is dedicated to them.
