Mastering New Dimensions of Leadership

Sujith Vasudevan, Managing Editor, 0

In the context of the modern world, it is quite hard to say that leaders are born, not made. Leaders in the functional department of an organization face multifarious challenges. The dynamically changing technology landscape and the preference for hybrid work are just a couple of them. Human behavior is already complex, and it is harder to communicate with people without face-to-face interactions or fixed schedules. Leaders have to use video calls to talk to their teams, a new skill for many of them.

On a more advanced note, the ridiculous pace of technology and the need to set your shop up in the digital
world is a significant challenge faced by CEOs and leaders in the technology department. Subject matter expertise and knowledge are paramount when it comes to the digital transformation of a business. It’s a no-brainer that aspirant leaders and even the established ones must undergo specialized training to keep their organizations abreast of the dynamic trends. We have curated a bunch of exciting stories from the corporate training and development realm.

On the other hand, the impact of Industry 4.0 can be interpreted as more repetitive and menial jobs getting automated. People were worried that automation was going to take their jobs away. On the contrary, automation has only freed up manpower to do many other jobs to optimize the results of automation and improve the customer experience at large. It is similar to what happened with the typewriter revolution. When computers replaced typewriters, people faced the same dilemma, only for computers to open the doorway to a whole new world of jobs. From data entry to AI development, the IT industry continues to produce jobs, and it’s paramount that employees must keep on updating their knowledge and skills, especially given the convenience of learning online.
