How long can you wait to achieve what you desire? May be days, months or years. But if your wish is to see gender parity, you need to wait for 99.5 years. Yes, you heard it right. At least the World Economic Forum’s Gender Gap Report – 2020 says so. India ranked 108th out of 149 countries last year, and this year it stands at 112th position among the list of 153 countries in WEF’s Global Gender Gap Index. Another analysis of LinkedIn data shows that in digital marketing industry, this proportion is around 72 percent, reflecting that the gender gap among Indian professionals is worse than the global average in every sector.

We accept it or not, but the fact remains that despite living in the 21st century male professionals are always given importance or preference over female employees even when they have the same learning, experience and training as the men. But when it comes to marketing, this concept should change. Why? Because women’s mind adapts to think innovatively and efficiently, and have more facilities to solve problems, create creative solutions. Thus whether its marketing strategy planning or client communication or any other avenue of the marketing world including the technologies, women can understand customer requirements better.
