Simplifying, Streamlining, And Revolutionizing Insurance Journey

As the CEO, how do you plan to simplify the complex landscape of health insurance for the Indian work force, ensuring that it becomes more affordable and accessible to a wider population?
To make health insurance more accessible and affordable for the Indian workforce I believe in the power of group insurance, which offers customizable coverage and dynamic pricing. Unlike personal insurance, group insurance covers all diseases from day one, eliminating waiting periods and providing coverage for mental health expenses. Additionally, group insurance does not require pre-policy medical checkups, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their health condition, can be covered. The pricing of group insurance is also 50 percent cheaper than personal insurance due to economies of scale and the absence of selection bias.

To simplify the journey of buying insurance, there should be a proprietary pricing engine that instantly provides accurate quotations based on the selected benefits. Also, we have created a tech platform and dashboard that offer a simplified understanding of policy benefits and provide access to e-cards digitally. Furthermore, we have to digitize processes such as onboarding new employees and claims processing, making them more efficient and paperless. The aim is to create a frictionless ecosystem that reduces paperwork and offers a seamless experience for individuals seeking health insurance.

What steps are you taking to leverage technology, such as mobile applications and online platforms, to simplify health insurance enrollment, claims processing, and access to healthcare services, particularly for those with limited resources or in remote locations?
We understand the importance of leveraging technology to enhance the accessibility and convenience of health insurance. We have developed a mobile application and online platform that allow users to enroll in insurance plans and manage their policy benefits. Through our platform, individuals can access their e-cards digitally, eliminating the need for manual issuance. We have also digitized the member management process, enabling organizations to add or delete employees seamlessly through the portal.

Claims processing has been a major focus for us, and we have streamlined the process by educating users about their insurance benefits at the time of policy purchase. Insurance providers should encourage cashless treatments whenever possible and have achieved a 75 percent cashless claim ratio through effective communication and providing e-carts for easy access. For reimbursement claims, we have obtained approval from insurance companies to process them in a paperless manner, reducing the need for physical document submissions. Users can track the status of their claims in real-time through our platform, ensuring transparency and convenience.

Our commitment to leveraging technology goes beyond our own platform. We have democratized group insurance distribution by providing a white-label technology solution to brokers, agents, banks, fintech companies, and healthtech companies. This allows our partners to utilize our infrastructure and distribute insurance more effectively, extending the benefits of technology to a wider population.

In your opinion, what role can employer-sponsored health insurance play in ensuring the affordability and accessibility of health coverage for the Indian workforce? How do you encourage more employers to offer comprehensive health insurance benefits to their employees?
Employer sponsored health insurance plays a crucial role in ensuring the affordability and accessibility of health coverage for the Indian workforce. Currently, the penetration level of health insurance in India is around 40–45 percent, with government-sponsored schemes and company-sponsored group insurance accounting for a significant portion. However, there is still a considerable uninsured population, which can be effectively covered through group insurance.

To encourage more employers to offer comprehensive health insurance benefits, we focus on simplifying the journey and providing additional value. We have simplified the process of buying insurance, making it effortless for organizations to provide coverage for their employees. Moreover, we offer complimentary benefits such as free doctor teleconsultations, mental wellness sessions, and discounts on medicines, among others.
