A joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) aims to provide a Mass Rapid Transit System in Mumbai. As one of the leaders at MMRC, under the guidance of Suyash Trivedi, MMRC is collectively driving the transformation of the transportation scenario in the financial capital of India.

Having a strong technical background, Suyash Trivedi completed his Bachelor of Technology of Technology from NIT Jaipur and Master of Technology from IIT Roorkee in Civil Engineering. He also cleared UPSC's highly competitive Engineering Services Examinations which helped him to get into the Engineering Services of the Government of India. His expertise lies in planning, executionand project management, and has experience in managing large infrastructure projects. He has also gained extensive experience with the procurement of works and services by government agencies. He possesses in-depth knowledge of dispute resolution through conciliation and arbitration, and he is a certified Quantity Surveyor. With exceptional communication and personnel management, he has brought various laurels to the organizations he worked with.

What is the motivation that fuels your daily routines? How has been your path to success and what is your success mantra?
What truly motivates me daily is the chance to make a positive impact on society through my work and witnessing the transformative power of well-executed infrastructure projects is a driving force in my life. Also, I am constantly motivated by the ever-evolving nature of the transportation and infrastructure sector which fuels my drive to stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and best practices.
I attribute a portion of my success to my strong academic foundation and continuous learning has been a vital aspect of my path to success. Also, my path to success has been influenced by factors such as collaboration, diverse experiences with reputable organizations, and a commitment to sustainability. These elements have played a pivotal role in shaping my professional journey and have been instrumental in achieving positive outcomes in the transportation and infrastructure sector. My success mantra revolves around incorporating sustainable practices, considering the social, economic, and environmental aspects, and ensuring the long-term viability of projects.

Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) is an esteemed organization that is playing a crucial role in the development of the urban Mass Rapid Transportation System (MRTS) in the vibrant city of Mumbai. MMRC's vision is to transform Mumbai's transportation landscape by building a reliable, convenient, and environmentally friendly metro system. With its commitment to excellence, sustainability, stakeholder engagement, and employee development, MMRC is shaping the future of urban mobility in Mumbai and setting new benchmarks in the field of metro infrastructure.

Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines or methodologies you follow to lead your team
My leadership approach is centered around creating a positive and collaborative work environment that fosters dedication, commitment, innovation, growth, and a shared sense of purpose.

Vision and goal alignment, leading by example, empowering and supporting the team, communication, collaboration, continuous learning, continuous growth, recognition, appreciation,adaptability, and resilience are some of the guidelines I follow to lead my team. By following these guidelines and methodologies, I strive to create a cohesive and high-performing team
that is motivated, empowered,and driven to achieve exceptional results. I believe that effective leadership is about inspiring and enabling others to reach their full potential and collectively contribute to the success of the organization.

What is the future destination you are heading towards?
As a leader, my future destination is to drive sustainable and impactful growth in the transportation and infrastructure sector. One of my primary objectives is to continue contributing to the development of sustainable and innovative solutions in the transportation and infrastructure sector. By leveraging digital transformation and smart infrastructure solutions, I envision a transportation network that is inter connected, efficient, and user friendly. In addition to my current role, I aspire to expand my sphere of influence by actively participating in industry associations, forums, and conferences. For continuous learning and personal growth, I am committed to staying updated with the latest advancements, trends, and best practices in the transportation and infrastructure sector.

What advice would you give to the upcoming construction industry leaders?
My advice to upcoming construction industry leaders is to embrace innovation and stay updated with the latest advancements in construction technology. Prioritizing sustainability, optimizing the cost of MRTS development, fostering strong relationships, focusing on safety, and continuously developing leadership and management skills are some other valuable pieces of advice from my side. By following these guidelines, one can navigate the dynamic construction industry and lead projects to success while making a positive impact on the built environment and the communities we serve.

Having a diverse and enriching working experience of over two decades, Suyash started his career at Engineers India as an executive. He then joined the Government Sector as an Engineer Officer with Ministry of Defence and then subsequently worked with various reputed metro organisations. His journey from a small village to where he is today is a testament to the power of dreams, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to personal growth and excellence.
