Having been with S Jain & Co for over three decades, how do you look back at your professional growth journey today?

Reflecting on my 35-year journey with S Jain & Co, I’m reminded of our vision ‘With one step begins the journey of a thousand miles’. Passing the challenging chartered accountancy exam was just the beginning, and maintaining a successful practice requires patience, honesty, sincerity, and dedication. These qualities have been instrumental in building credibility. Over the years, I’ve tackled diverse assignments both in India and abroad, reinforcing the importance of these values. This long-term commitment has not only paid off but also solidified my reputation and grow thin the
profession.

Tell us about your leadership approach, what are the guidelines or methodologies you follow as a leader?

I’ve never thought of myself as a traditional leader; instead, I consider myself a part of a team, where every member is valued equally. My leadership approach centers around active listening and collaboration, ensuring that every team member’s voice is heard and respected. I believe true leadership is about caring for your team and creating a supportive environment where everyone feels like they are part of a family.

It’s not about exerting authority but about fostering mutual respect and inclusivity. By prioritizing empathy and shared goals, we can collectively drive growth and success. This inclusive methodology has allowed us to thrive together, ensuring that all team member's contributions are recognized and integral to our office's progress and achievements.

What are the best practices you pass on to your team from your experience?

As a disciplined individual, I emphasize a disciplined approach within my team. Key practices I pass on include punctuality, patience, sincerity, and dedication in every task, I also stress the importance of continuously updating knowledge to stay relevant in our ever-evolving field. Weekly meetings are integral to our routine, where we listen to team members' suggestions, address any challenges, and provide guidance.

This open communication ensures that everyone feels heard and supported. Additionally, I encourage ongoing professional education through our institute's programs, helping our team stay informed and skilled. These practices foster a collaborative and knowledgeable environment, essential for the success and growth of our CA firm.
What are the factors you check when defining long-term business goals?

When defining long-term business goals, I prioritize quality over quantity and focus on evaluating customer performance, ensuring we deliver top-notch services. My goal isn't to have numerous clients but to provide exceptional service to those we do have. We operate across India and in several countries abroad, tailoring our audit programs and services to each profession's unique needs. This customization ensures we meet clients' specific requirements effectively.

Our team then executes these tailored programs with precision and this approach has earned us a strong reputation, with clients valuing our commitment to quality and personalized service. It's this dedication that has solidified our standing and attracted clients who appreciate our expertise.

What What is your anticipation about the market, going forward?

Looking ahead, I anticipate significant changes in the market which are essential for growth, because modification is inevitable, but the speed at which we adapt to it is crucial.

As a CA firm, we've noticed that traditional audit services are becoming less appealing, especially for closely held firms. To stay relevant, we’ve expanded our offerings beyond routine audits. We provide advanced financial tools, due diligence, financial consultancy, and administrative management consultancy.

These additional services offer our clients a competitive edge and more comprehensive support. By constantly adapting to market shifts and client needs, we ensure our services remain valuable and forward-thinking. This proactive approach positions us well for the future, continually meeting the evolving demands of the profession.
