Dr Anjaneyulu Chava
Founder Chairman & Senior Consultant ENT Surgeon
In 1989, he secured the highest rank in competitive exams, setting him on a path from Guntur Medical College to the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS (New Delhi). With sheer perseverance, he excelled in surgery, earning a senior residency and later an assistant professor role. "Excellence is not a skill, it’s an attitude". Later in 2004, this very attitude led him to Hyderabad, where he contributed to medical advancements in KIMS and Global Hospital. Now, as the Founder Chairman and Senior Consultant ENT Surgeon at Asian ENT Care Center, he embodies the AIIMS Global spirit by mentoring, innovating, and proving that true leaders don’t just heal patients, they inspire generations.
In a close interview with us, Anjaneyulu shared his exciting journey and his experience at AIIMS.
What is the most valuable lesson or experience you gained from your time at AIIMS?
I start each day with careful planning, scheduling surgeries, consultations, and other tasks the night before. Waking up around 6 AM, I practice Surya Namaskar and sometimes walk or cycle. My work begins with surgeries or early hospital planning for a smooth, stress-free day. AIIMS fostered excellence with top-tier minds, advanced equipment, and seamless teamwork, ensuring optimal patient care. Specialists were always available, creating a family-like environment where students learned, residents earned prestigious degrees, and faculty built lasting careers, making AIIMS a hub of medical excellence.
Can you describe how accessible the Faculty is to students at AIIMS?
At AIIMS, faculty members are highly accessible to students,
providing guidance and support around the clock. Many senior doctors reside on campus, frequently interacting with students during coffee breaks, walks, or in common areas like offices and libraries. They foster a friendly and approachable environment, treating students like their own children and encouraging open discussions rather than asserting superiority. Even after graduation, alumni maintain strong bonds with their mentors, seeking advice on academics, careers, and personal matters. The faculty not only imparts medical knowledge but also offers life guidance, ensuring students feel supported both professionally and personally. AIIMS fosters a close-knit community where students and faculty function like a family, creating a life long connection to the institution.
How did you utilize the alumni network during your time as a student or after graduation?
Alumni communication used to be restricted, but in recent years, WhatsApp groups have grown in popularity, making it much simpler to stay in touch. Members of our ENT alumni network range from 1964 to the most recent graduates and enrolled students. This portal makes it easy to get help for patients, family members, or even the education of children by enabling us to track the locations of alumni both in India and outside. The network has been quite helpful in finding trustworthy hospitals, facilitating connections with specialists, and providing advice on colleges. We also utilize it to communicate updates about conferences, events, and advancements within the hospital. Alumni maintain consistent communication by posting about events held in various cities. Members of the network help one another's families, creating deep personal ties in addition to professional ones. Our capacity to serve patients, society, and our communities more effectively is strengthened by this continuous interaction among bright minds.
What is your most memorable experience from your time at AIIMS?
My accomplishments and patient care are at the centre of some of my most treasured AIIMS memories. At AIIMS, we provide patients with altruistic treatment around the clock without expecting payment. It was quite satisfying to watch the patients feel safe and thank us for our assistance. Getting admitted to AIIMS with the highest rank and joining the surgical branch was one of my proudest moments, and I still get excited about this accomplishment.
I promote open communication with physicians, personnel, and paramedics by providing suggestions rather than rigid procedures

Meeting my HOD on my first day and being accepted as a member of their family, who promised me everlasting support on both a professional and personal level, was another memorable experience. This gave me a great deal of confidence and produced a supportive, encouraging learning atmosphere. AIIMS was an inspiring environment because of the freedom to learn, do surgeries, and work with out standing instructors. Lastly, another high point of my journey was the convocation day, when I was awarded my master's degree from such a distinguished university. My life and career have been significantly impacted by these encounters.
How do you utilize health information technologies in healthcare decision-making and investigations? What are the latest tools your hospital has implemented for both diagnostics and treatment?
Through conferences, Online journals Zoom sessions, and conversations with experts, I keep up with developments in healthcare. Modern tools including the navigation system for sinus surgery, Skeeters for cochlear implants, and narrow-band imaging for cancer screening are used at our facility. We have state-of-the-art labs for speech, swallowing, and vestibular disorders. We guarantee excellent service thanks to talented staff from AIIMS and CMC. Our capacity to offer cutting-edge ENT services has been improved by our recent growth.
What is it that drives and inspires you in your daily routines?
A relative who was the first doctor in our family greatly motivated me when I was in the tenth grade. I was deeply impacted by seeing him several times and seeing the respect he received in our hamlet. His commitment to patients, families, and society inspired me to become a doctor. I was determined to pursue this course, therefore in order to qualify for competitive tests, I chose biological sciences. I successfully enrolled in the MBBS program after finishing my studies and earning an outstanding score on the state exams, and later at a National level, when I secured my AIIMS admission.
