As a new-age leader, what drives and motivates you each day?
My everyday life starts with a backward step to review my accomplishments and what still waits. I then rank tasks based on a matrix of urgency and importance, focusing on tasks that are both urgent and important. I follow this by scheduling essential but non-urgent tasks and relocating less important tasks as needed.
I ensure that I make time to recognize and reward the work
of my team, colleagues, as well as mentors. Lastly, I relax at the end of the day by thanking the Almighty and my family, who support me and keep me down to earth and motivated.
How has the institute supported your entre - preneurial journey and enhanced your business acumen?
NIT has been instrumental in shaping my entrepreneurial mindset and business acumen. First, it provided a strong foundational knowledge through faculty guidance, lab work, and project selection, which sparked my interest in entrepre -neurship.
Second, active participation and leadership in academic, research, and industry-oriented events allowed me to develop practical skills in management and decision-making.
How have you leveraged the alumni network during and after your time at the institute?
Alumni regularly return to share their journeys offering mentorship, inspiration, and guidance to students. The network provides opportunities for professional development through workshops, multi industry perspectives, and meaningful interactions.
Programs like Coffee with the Director and other alumni connect initiatives further strengthen relationships, fostering a strong platform for learning, networking, and collaboration between students, faculty, and alumni.
What is the one memory that you cherished from the institute?
A few mentors, specifically Dr. M. Punniya moorthy, who was my project guide, and allowed total freedom and trust in selecting my project topic, industry, and platform.
It was one of the most memorable moments in my life as a student of the International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology since he assisted me in publishing my first paper in the journal.
The support of professors, such as Dr. S.G. Ponnambalam, Dr. Thamarai Selvam, Dr. Durai Selvam, Dr.P. Parthiban and others, and the encouragement of peers also contributed to my academic and personal development.
