Can you provide a concise overview of your professional background and experiences?
Throughout my educational journey, I have earned qualifications from esteemed institutions such as Nanyang Technological University (NTU), the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore Management University (SMU), as well as universities in Australia. This diverse educational background covers various subjects, including psychology, education, business administration and business law. Currently, I am pursuing a doctoral degree in organizational leadership and management, further enhancing my knowledge and expertise in the field.

On the professional front, my career has encompassed diverse leadership roles in different organizations. Presently, I hold the esteemed positions of Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at Singapore-HUJ Alliance for Research and Enterprise (SHARE). Over the years, I have gained valuable experience in strategic planning, operations management, and business development across industries such as sales, hospitality, events management, food and beverages, and manpower operations. In the public sector, I have made significant contributions and achieved noteworthy accomplishments, overseeing multiple departments and driving initiatives in the Ministry of Education (MOE).

I firmly believe that mentors play a vital role in the development and success of leaders across various fields and industries. Their guidance support, and wisdom have a profound impact on a leader's growth and achievements. Beyond imparting technical knowledge, mentors contribute to the mentee's personal development, emotional well-being, and overall effectiveness as a leader. The mentor mentee relationship fosters a culture of continuous learning and improve ment, benefiting both individuals and the organizations they lead.

In my leadership journey, I have been fortunate to have the guidance of exceptional mentors who have played pivotal roles in shaping the leader I am today. I express my gratitude to Colonel (COL)- Kenny Tay, my OC in 1st Commando Battalion during my National Service, as well as Seet Tiat Hee and Steve Ow, school leaders from MOE. Additionally, I am deeply thankful to Professor Shlomo Sasson, Director of SHARE, for his valuable mentorship and support. Their influence has been instrumental in my growth and success as a leader.

NTU places great importance on embracing diversity, providing a platform for students from various backgrounds to come together and learn from one another. The campus serves as a melting pot of cultures, ideas, and perspectives, fostering an inclusive and enriching environment. It cultivates a culture of innovation and creativity, encouraging students to think critically and tackle real world challenges. How would you describe the nature of SHARE as an organization and its current standing in the market?
SHARE, which stands for the Singapore HUJ Alliance for Research and Enterprise, is dedicated to promoting research collaboration and partnership between Singapore and Israel's Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJ). It plays a vital role in connecting the expertise and resources of both Singapore and HUJ, facilitating joint research projects, talent development and technology commercialization. By fostering partnerships between researchers, industry stakeholders, and government agencies, SHARE cultivates innovation and stimulates economic growth. Currently, SHARE holds a prominent position in the market as a leading collaborative platform for academic and research initiatives. It is recognized for its contributions to the research ecosystem, driving innovation and achieving impactful outcomes.

Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines or methodologies you follow as a leader?
My leadership approach emphasizes collaboration, empowerment, and innovation. I lead by example, set clear goals, and prioritize effective communication. I value diverse perspectives, promote continuous learning, and encourage creativity. I empower individuals to share ideas, take ownership, and contribute to our goals. I resolve differences, achieve win-win out comes, and foster a sense of team spirit. I embrace innovation, adapt to change, and build meaningful connections with stake holders and the community.

What are the major challenges you have encountered initially while establishing yourself as a successful leader and how did you overcome them?
As I embarked on my journey to establish myself as a successful leader, I faced various significant challenges. Gaining the trust and respect of team members proved to be a crucial obstacle, as did navigating through the complexities of the organization. Additionally, dealing with resistance to change, managing conflicts, adapting to new environments, and meeting performance expectations were all challenges I encountered along the way.

To emerge as a successful professional and overcome these hurdles, I took proactive steps. Demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills played a vital role, as did leading by example and maintaining transparency and approach ability. Seeking feedback and actively learning and improving were key components of my growth as a leader. Building a cohesive and motivated team, fostering a positive work culture, and honing effective problem solving and decision making skills were essential strategies I employed to overcome the challenges I faced. Through determination and continuous efforts, I successfully tackled these obstacles and established myself as a successful leader in my field.

Going forward, what are the changes in market behavior that you anticipate and what are the opportunities that you foresee?
Looking ahead, the anticipated changes in market behavior and potential opportunities can vary significantly across regions, influenced by factors like economic conditions, political developments,
technological advancements, consumer trends, and global events. To capitalize on emerging opportunities, leaders and businesses should conduct thorough market research, stay updated on industry developments, and remain adaptable. Seeking guidance from industry experts and market analysts can provide valuable insights for strategic decision making. Certain industries are expected to have a continued impact. Sustainability, Green Initiatives, and Circular Economy: Growing awareness of environmental concerns drives the demand for ecofriendly products and sustainable practices, offering opportunities for businesses to attract environmentally conscious consumers.
