After two and a half years in technology, he made the bold decision to quit his job, with no backup plan in place. Rather than following the conventional path, he embraced uncertainty as an opportunity to pursue his true passion.

With no formal guidance or structured resources, Ranjith ventured into entrepre neurship at a time when the startup culture was still in its infancy. None theless, Ranjith's resilience and determination kept him focused on his goals.

Early challenges, including financial strain and difficulty in securing funding, only strengthened his resolve. These experiences laid the groundwork for the creation of Ninja Media Creations, an agency that would go on to redefine advertising strategies in innovative ways.

Today, Ranjith’s leadership is evident in the agency’s success, with numerous accolades, including the Young Achiever Award 2020 and the Asian Business Leadership Award, cementing his position as a prominent figure in the industry.
Tell us about Ninja Media Creations and how is it transforming advertising, especially across Indian railways?

Ninja Media Creations is revolutionizing brand engagement through innovative railway advertising in India. Partnered with Indian Railways, it combines audio and visual branding to reach millions of daily passengers. Jingle ads are played through train announcements using proprietary software across 250+ stations in 13 states. With 25 Stations with Active LED Digital Screens, this captures attention effectively.

Ninja Media Creations also leverages full train exterior branding on Mumbai and Ahmedabad Shatabdi trains, turning them into moving billboards. Interior branding on Vande Bharat trains in Odisha targets daily commuters, while static ads at railway stations further increase brand visibility. By seamlessly embedding advertising into the travel experience, Ninja Media Creations provides a high impact platform for brands to engage audiences throughout their journey.

You’ve been a key driving force behind the transformation of Ninja Media Creations. Can you share your journey to success and the principles that have guided you along the way?

Entrepreneurship, to me, is all about perseverance. The journey is filled with challenges, but I believe that once a goal is set, no obstacle should stop you from moving forward. Resilience is key and giving up is never an option. I’ve always approached challenges head-on, and this mindset has helped my team and me make significant progress. Looking back, I can proudly say, 'At last, we have come this far', as every step forward is an achievement in itself.

How do you spot market opportunities and stay updated on the latest trends?

I focus on setting trends rather than following them. I believe market oppor -tunities come from solving real problems and identifying gaps. A great example of this is railway advertising, where we pioneered high-impact jingle ads, full-train branding, and station placements, all targeting captive audiences. With outdoor digital advertising on the rise, we’re leading the way with LED innovations. My experience with setbacks, including multi-crore
losses and the pandemic, has sharpened my ability to anticipate change. We also study audience behavior, using data and cultural insights to create impactful, trend-setting campaigns that shape the future of advertising.

What are the key industry practices you guide your team to follow and ensure they adhere to?

At Ninja Media Creations, staying ahead isn’t about just keeping up, it’s about leading with innovation, resilience, and strategic execution. I ensure my team isn’t simply following trends but pioneering new ways to engage audiences. Every challenge is an opportunity, and that mindset has shaped our success. When faced with financial setbacks, I turned adversity into a lesson in resilience, helping us rebuild stronger. We rely on data-driven decision-making, from tracking digital outdoor growth to analyzing audience engagement in railway stations. Creativity fuels everything we do, and with a customer-first approach, we are redefining the industry.

What goals have you set for the future in your roadmap?

Ninja Media Creations is focused on scaling operations, expanding market presence, and growing its team from 100 to 200 employees. With a strong post-pandemic recovery, it plans to drive innovation and market leadership in digital outdoor media.

Considering the current and future market landscape, what advice would you like to share with emerging leaders in the advertising industry?

Entrepreneurship isn’t for the faint-hearted. It is a journey filled with uncertainty, risk, and constant perseverance. Unlike traditional businesspeople who respond to market demands, true entrepreneurs seek out problems, identify gaps, and build solutions that do not yet exist. They are risk takers, visionaries, and change makers who shape trends rather than follow them. I often compare building a business to raising a child, which is slow, messy, and full of falls. But with every stumble comes growth. Real learning comes not from comfort or classrooms, but from failure, sacrifice, and grit. Success belongs to those who embrace the chaos, adapt quickly, and never stop getting back up.
