 Richa Thakkar Desai,    FounderMothers are a powerful force for social cohesion and integration in the family and they can make excellent managers as they are multi-taskers. After being a mother to a five month old baby, Richa Thakker Desai launched Benditaa Clothing in the year 2022. She believes that her time management skills and ability to focus increased drastically after becoming a mother. A law graduate from Government Law College, Mumbai, she worked at Wadia Ghandy & Co. with one of the top lawyers in the country. The thought process of having inspirational and thoughtful messages on clothing for children lead to the creation of Benditaa.

From being a law graduate to a mother of two and now an entrepreneur, Richa has been donning multiple hats. In a recent interview with CEO Insights, Richa shares more about her life, career and corporate uprise through Benditaa, here’s the highlight from the same.

Tell us about your educational and professional journey and what inspired you to found Benditaa Clothing?
I am a law graduate from Mumbai. I worked at Wadia Ghandy & Co. with one of the top lawyers in the country, Mr. Ashish Ahuja. I have experience in the fields of general corporate law, mergers & acquisitions and insurance.

ren to help them develop positive thoughts lead to the creation of Benditaa.

Define Benditaa Clothing as an organization and its current position in the industry?
A homegrown Indian Clothing brand, Benditaa is an everyday motivational clothing label for kids. What children see has a strong impact on their mind because what we see is what we believe. We at Benditaa believe that our Children need to see, hear, and wear better messages to be better humans for a kinder tomorrow. There fore, we inscribe inspirational and motivational messages on our apparel to help children develop positive thoughts every time they wear Benditaa Outfit. At Benditaa, we are an all Girls team at present, fortunate to have Paran Sheth, Palak Sheth & Deepali Kotian with us. To add to it, I am grateful for the support received from my husband Siddharth Desai & my sisters Garima Thakker & Aparajita Thakker. Without their help this would not have been possible.

Talk to us about your products and which one you consider your flagship offering?
Presently, we are offering cotton T-shirts and sweatshirts for the age group of 0 to 13 years and a bodysuit for babies. At Benditaa, we want to introduce new and updated versions of fairy tales to our kids and raise them stronger for a better tomorrow. We motivate girls to be self-reliant and promote sisterhood
through our designs like 'Be your own hero' and 'Real Queens fix each other’s crown'.

We celebrate courage and smartness in our girls and kindness in our boys. We encourage and motivate our children to dream big and achieve their dream with our designs like 'It all starts with a dream' and 'Believe in your dreams'. At Benditaa we passionately believe that our children deserve to see, hear and wear better messages and we put that belief into practice by designing positive alternatives.

How do you ensure to deliver the best quality products to your customers and what is the constant success mantra that helps you grow?
We use fine cotton material for all our products and our mission is to provide high-quality and standard products to our customers with meaningful designs.

Taking one step at a time has been my constant success mantra in my journey.

What is the objective of your company and how are you going to achieve it?
Our objective is that girls and boys should see, hear and wear better messages to be better humans for a kinder tomorrow and we will always strive to create and disseminate inspirational and thoughtful messages to the future generation through our designs and clothing.

Richa is the Founder of BENDITAA. She completed her Law from Government Law College, Mumbai. She worked as a Principal Associate at a reputed law firm in Mumbai, Wadia Ghandy & Co. She has broad range of experience in the fields of general corporate law, mergers & acquisitions and insurance.
