Winding back a couple of decades, whenever the term Robot was coined, people immediately envisioned an enlarged version of action figure toys with automatically moving arms and legs and to say nothing of the creepy voice. No need for second thoughts, the stereotype can be attributed to a plethora of sci-fi movies that portrayed the same image. But today, being an instrumental aspect of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing, Robots have a significantly different meaning, especially when it comes to manufacturing assembly lines. A single robotics powered assembly module can match the work rate of three to five people, depending on the task. From savings on the cost of labor to significant energy savings due to lower heating requirements in automated operations, streamlined processes, increase in accuracy, minimal material wastage, and better standardization of outputs, the benefits of automated assembly lines are countless. But the key for manufacturing companies lies in finding the right engineering products that will enhance their assembly lines adhering to their sophisticated production requirements.
