Marc Tormo , Founder & CEO
Marc Tormo began his entrepreneurial career at the age of 23 in Barcelona, by opening specialty cafe-stores with the help of his family. At 26, he settled in Auroville with his wife, Matilde. He is a licensed 'Q' grader at the Coffee Quality Institute, US and has the 'Crafting Luxury and Lifestyle Business' program at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Recognizing his brainchild 'Marc's Coffees' as one of the best coffee brands - dedicated to promoting specialty, gourmet, and sustainable coffees from India, CEO Insights indulges in an exclusive conversation with him to learn more about his brand leadership strategies. It all started when I visited India back in the 90’. The country impacted me a great deal. I somehow intuitively felt I would one day come and settle in India. I fell in love with coffee in 1993, thanks to the guidance of Italian and Catalan coffee professionals in Barcelona. They encouraged my sister and me to experiment with coffee and open our own specialty cafes.
