Bharti Airtel will closely assist Spectacom to promote its exclusive digital content through Airtel Xstream and Wynk Music

India’s leading telecom Bharti Airtel ropes in Spectacom, a digital content creation startup, under the Airtel Start-up Accelerator Program, acquiring its strategic stake of about 10 percent. Airtel will closely assist Spectacom to spread awareness about its health and fitness platform and encourage the mass to fend-off the mental barriers in achieving greater success. With Airtel Xstream and Wynk Music, which occupy a deep digital distribution network among hundreds of millions of Indians will further help Spectacom’s exclusive digital content to reach out to fitness enthusiasts dwelling even in the farthest corners of the country.

Airtel Start-up Accelerator Program was initiated on October 25, 2019, with a motive to allow startups to utilize Airtel’s robust network in data, distribution, networks, and payments. On the flip side, participants can enjoy Airtel’s offline and online market reach, which includes over 30 million customers across 18 countries. Throughout the start-up’s growth, Airtel’s executive team will become the strategic partner of the company by offering their advisory services. After Vahan, an AI-based headhunting startup, Spectacom became the second company to sign-up for the scheme.

Adnan Adeeb, Co-Founder, Spectacom, states “As India is becoming a younger nation; it is also becoming a fitter one. Through our collaboration with Airtel, we aim at not just reaching millions with bespoke offerings around Health & Fitness but also give the fitness enthusiasts from around the country, a platform to shine!

We have always believed that the real hero is the ordinary guy who overcomes extraordinary challenges and this will be reflected in all our offerings. We are very excited at partnering with Airtel and look forward to bringing innovative content to life”.

Spectacom was ideated by Adnan and Zeba Zaidi, known figures who created the popular Devils Circuit military-style obstacle races in India. The platform was launched with an initiative to create path-breaking digital content, which can guide people across languages, geographies and fitness levels. Contents mostly include innovative health & fitness training programs in guiding people to partake in the rally of ‘fit-India’.

Today, Devils Circuit has the support of a two million users strong community, which includes young people from smaller towns of India apart from its international participants from over 16 countries. Now, it’s time for Spectacom to live up to its potential and to increase the viewer-base, it has been given exclusive digital rights for the promotion of Devils Circuit’s popular shows like ‘The College Frenzy’ and ‘ The Corporate Challenge’.

Adarsh Nair, Chief Product Officer, Bharti Airtel says, “We believe that X Sports, which are all about fitness, aligns beautifully with our brand. Thanks to the deep penetration of mobile internet in India, the potential to grow the adoption of Devils Circuit style X Sports amongst India’s youth is immense. This also fits into Airtel’s strong focus on connecting with the youth and providing them digital platforms to fulfill their aspirations. We look forward to collaborating with Spectacom on this exciting journey.
