Ball Corporation to enhance its eco-efficient & environment-friendly product line through the acquisition of Tubex’s Sao Paolo Based Subsidiary

The environmental degradation is one of the greatest challenges that humanity is facing today. Deforestation, desertification, pollution, & climate change have become major concerns for the international community. Aside from increasing the vulnerability of the affected areas, it also leads to scarcity of resources. Intrinsically, environment friendly alternatives to conventional sources are a must if we have to leave a ‘green’ legacy for the future generations.

In an endeavour to enhance its eco-efficient & environment-friendly product line, one of the world's largest manufacturers of metal beverage containers, Ball Corporation is all set to acquire Tubex Industria E Comercio de Embalagens, which is an aluminum aerosol packaging business with a plant in Sao Paolo, Brazil. In addition to this, the plant is a possessor of associated contracts & other related assets worth $80 million & a potential earn out.

involved in paper & paper product merchant wholesalers, other plastics product manufacturing, general warehousing & storage, metal coating, engraving (except Jewelry and Silverware), and allied services to manufacturers.

Employing around 300 people, the Brazil based unit produces personal care packaging for global & local customers. The plant will become a part of Ball's aluminum aerosol packaging division and complement Ball's global aluminum aerosol & slug business in Europe, North America and Asia, which is led by Stan Platek, Vice President & General Manager, Ball Corporation.

Strengthening Ball’s bit towards developing more & more environment friendly solutions, this acquisition is a positive reassurance towards escalating its business as manufactures of beverage containers, two-and-three-piece steel food cans, steel & aluminum aerosol cans, and aluminum slugs. Besides being infinitely recyclable & economically valuable, these aluminium packaging solutions are easily degradable & non- polluting; thus contributing towards a greener future.

“As the demand for sustainable aluminum packaging continues to grow among customers and consumers worldwide, this investment allows us to broaden our geographic reach and serve this expanding market as one of the leading aluminum aerosol suppliers in Brazil,” concludes John A. Hayes, Chairman, President & CEO, Ball Corporation.
