Britannia Appoints Puneet Das as CMO
In a major leadership change at one of India’s top FMCG firms, Britannia Industries Limited has revealed important modifications to its senior marketing team, indicating a tactical effort to enhance its brand and growth strategy in a more competitive consumer landscape.
Britannia has designated Puneet Das as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), starting February 16, 2026, in a permanent employment capacity. The appointment occurs as the company deals with changing consumer preferences, trends toward premium products, and increasing competition in biscuits, snacks, and related categories.

Industry experts see his hiring as a tactical decision by Britannia to enlist an experienced brand architect known for fostering growth, innovation, and marketing centered on purpose.
Concurrently, Britannia has promoted Siddharth Gupta from General Manager – Marketing to Vice President – Marketing, starting February 1, 2026.
Since 2018, Gupta has been at Britannia and is now responsible for leading the marketing of the company’s Biscuit, Wafer, and Snack portfolio, which is essential for driving revenue. His advancement signifies consistency in leadership and the cultivation of internal talent at Britannia.

With almost 20 years of experience, Gupta possesses knowledge in brand management, strategy, innovation, communication, customer marketing, and sales. Prior to joining Britannia, he dedicated more than ten years to Colgate Palmolive, starting as a Management Trainee in 2006 and eventually leading marketing for major toothpaste segments, such as Freshness, Whitening, and Sensitivity.
His promotion is anticipated to guarantee strategic stability in Britannia’s main sectors while collaborating closely with the newly appointed CMO to refine the company’s extensive marketing strategy.
