Entrepreneurs are crucial drivers of economic growth, making substantial contributions to the GDP of nations, both developed and developing. Acknowledging the distinct hurdles encountered by entrepreneurs, especially those operating family-owned enterprises, the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) and the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow are pleased to introduce the Global Leadership Development Programme tailored for Entrepreneurs.

Crafted as an innovative certificate program, this initiative aims to empower entrepreneurs with cutting-edge management techniques, enabling them to capitalize on global expansion prospects and foster socially conscious leadership infused with a global perspective. The program is geared towards tackling the hurdles encountered by entrepreneurs while harnessing avenues for sustainable development and intergenerational sustainability.

Prof. Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, and the inauguration of the program. He highlighted that the curriculum's thorough design aims at accomplishing distinct learning goals, such as fostering entrepreneurial skills and discerning growth strategies.

The program's structure, encompassing five stages, is designed to ensure a seamless and comprehensive learning journey. It commences with a five-day on-campus residential session at IIM Indore, followed by three months of online live classes jointly conducted by IIM Indore and the University of Glasgow during the second and fourth stages. The third stage involves a five-day immersive experience at the University of Glasgow, providing participants with invaluable insights from esteemed UK-based faculty and entrepreneurs. Finally, the fifth stage concludes the participants' journey with three days of sessions at IIM Indore, solidifying their learning and preparing them for entrepreneurial success in today's global landscape.

Prof. Eleanor Shaw, Head of Adam Smith Business School, said, "This joint Executive Education programme is evidence of the fantastic relationship our two schools share and the joint ambition of our respective colleagues to draw on their excellent research to design a programme for ambitious entrepreneurs and those involved in leading family businesses", she said. The programme will provide practical insights and access to proven approaches and toolkits to support the development and growth of entrepreneurial firms in India, she affirmed.

Prof. Robbie Paton, Deputy Head of Adam Smith Business School, Director of Development noted that this programme targets young and ambitious entrepreneurs looking to build their own, or their family business, into a regional, indeed global, player. "This venture plays to the strengths of both partners; it focused on leadership, innovation, digitization and engaging growth strategies to deliver a programme of sustainable and impactful business development".

Prof. Nuran Acur, Director of Research, Adam Smith Business School, said that this programme draws on the latest research in terms of innovation, strategy, leadership, and digital transformation to provide practical insights and real-world examples to help participants understand the unique dynamics and challenges faced by entrepreneurs and family businesses, and how to navigate them effectively for sustained growth and success. Participants will engage in a dynamic learning experience, blending conceptual teaching, case studies, hands-on activities, and real-world examples.
