In this interview with CEO Insights, Dr. Mohit Madan shares insights on the orthopedics sector and how he overcame challenges to become the best surgeon in the industry.
Give me a brief overview of your professional journey.
As a senior consultant in orthopedics, my specialization is in Joint Replacement, Arthroscopic Surgery, Complex trauma surgeries and deformity corrections. I attended KGMC, Lucknow, and was trained in Orthopedics at the Institute of Medical Sciences (B.H.U), Varanasi, and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (A.I.I.M.S), New Delhi.I pursued Fellowship in Computer Assisted, “Minimally Invasive” Joint Replacement Surgeries and received specialized training in Arthroscopy. I have completed my advanced training in Trauma and Life Support courses accredited by the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons, U.S.A, and Germany. As a master in surgery, I’m fully equipped to provide patients with the most advanced treatment.
Over the years, I have built a good reputation due to my skillful surgeries and outstanding results even in complex cases. I have held the positions of Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor in different medical colleges and I have been actively involved in teaching undergraduate MBBS students and postgraduate students of MS Ortho and DNB Ortho courses.
I am an avid contributor to research and development and have presented various papers on ‘Knee
and hip osteoarthritis and its management’ both nationally and internationally. I have also organized various symposia and camps for patient awareness and benefit.
My proficiency and competence in this field along with my compassionate and concerned approach to patients have made me a distinguished Doctor. I have vast experience in treating patients suffering from various orthopedic disorders, disabilities, and injuries at various hospitals in Delhi/NCR. I’m also associated as Senior Consultant Orthopedics at Max Hospital Vaishali, Fortis Hospital Noida, and many other world-class hospitals in Delhi/ NCR. I’m a Director of Orthopedics at My Ortho Centre & Knee Hip Shoulder Clinic, serving patients for the last 18 years with care and compassion.
What motivates you to keep going in the field of medicine?
In this day and age, it is important to focus on delivering quality healthcare that can create significant change within a medical institution, achieving everything from financial savings to, most important, saving patient lives.
As you're an Alumni Leader from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi, could you share the learning experience which you acquired from the institute?
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi is globally renowned and recognized for its research based and technology driven medical treatment. Here medical science is highly advanced, which is why AIIMS as a hospital witness so many patients from different corners of the world.
For me working at AIIMS Delhi, was a great learning experience. Here I got the opportunity to treat complicated diseased patients, under the guidance of renowned medical faculty. I worked in a unit of Joint Reconstructive Surgery, Arthroscopy Surgery, Pediatric Orthopedic, Hand Surgery, and Deformity Correction. Initially, when I joined the institute, I was posted at Jai Prakash Narayan Trauma Centre, AIIMS, where I was exposed to all the complicated trauma cases especially pelvic and spine trauma.
