Here is an exclusive interview of Tharun Ranka with CEO Insights where he talks about his professional journey and how he runs his business.
Tell us how you got inspired to start your professional journey in the transportation industry?
Initially, I was hesitant to join my family’s transport business and pursued an animation course but my father encouraged me and helped me to choose the right path for my career development. Therefore, I joined our transportation business and while running it, I discovered my strengths and weaknesses as well as got the scope to learn, utilize and manage resources along with multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Spending over six years in Mahaveer Transports as a Business Development Manager, I have collaborated with other administrative assistants to perform truck management, time management, coordination with the clients, and assembled research reports for the financial specialists in our six offices across India. I have also worked with the executive team of the transport and logistics industry and I have taken the responsibility to educate other employees by using progressive systems and applications, including accounting software, mass communication procedures, and organizational apps. All these factors played a vital role in encouraging me to be a part of the transportation journey.
Define Mahaveer Transways as an organization and where is it positioned in the industry? What are the company’s greatest strengths and unique propositions that it offers to its clients?
Mahaveer Transways is a team of passionate businessmen including the young & experienced who together are striving to address the vacuum of streamlined operations in the transport business along with fast delivery without compromising on the safety of any consignment. We at Mahaveer try to maintain a pace with modern innovation, rethinking business practices and easing transportation by using technology platforms and realtime algorithms making it reliable and efficient.
Recently, government regulations, the health of the nation’s transportation system, energy restrictions, and technological developments represent important considerations in the formulation of a business strategy. We have responded to these challenges by developing competitive strategies based in part on postponement and speculation, standardization, consolidation, and differentiation. The management has conducted either formal or informal logistics audits, redesigned systems to provide more effective support for corporate and non-corporate strategies and taken steps to ensure continued appraisal of opportunities over the long run.
The prime objective of my business is to transfer a product from Point A to Point B safely, cost-effectively, and in a timely manner.We value the demand for transparent operations and deliver to our clients what they want, how they want it, where they want it and when they want it in efficiently and transparently. Our vision is to redefine the experience of speed,safety, and transparency in the logistics industry.
What is the impact you have been making with your current role? Tell us the story behind the inception of Mahaveer Transways LLP.
I am an ambitious employee and a team player. However, I have gained a deep understanding of the roles and departments of our transportation sector and how they work together to meet their collective goals. Strategizing in those areas has made me more competitive for leadership in my business. I have always tried to understand what my company needs and want to use my organizational abilities to achieve its goals through faster processes. I have digitized all our present systems and widened our transportation sector that covers all sources of road transport. From the origin of Mahaveer Transports, we concentrated only on the part load transit, later my serious analysis made me offer both part and full load transit sectors. This led to the origin of my company “Mahaveer Transways LLP” – a full truck division of Mahaveer Transports.
We also want to change the treatment of Trucks, Truck Drivers & how they are treated in our country. Look into the cabin of a truck and you will know what we are talking about. A total revolution in the Indian Trucking Industry is our aim.
Tell us about the milestones that have bestowed you with utmost satisfaction professionally?
I was selected and awarded as the “Youth Transporter”for Mahendra Transport Excellency Award (2017-18). Joining Mahaveer Transports and leading the administrative and finance sections at a young age has been one of the biggest milestones for me. It has been both challenging and rewarding. I believe that learning is a lifelong process and I have never allowed failures to dictate my career path which gives me utmost satisfaction.
Going forward, what are the goals that you wish to invest in and how do you plan to take them further?
Believing in the fact that the sky's the limit, I follow many new technical measures to widen my business, covering up all the bases of the transportation sectors. By trying to form one roof to serve all means of transportation and making my supply chain center, I want to experience greater heights in my
career.
