Alumni leaders from the University of Delhi embody these qualities, using their education and experiences to mentor others, promote innovation, and contribute to societal development.

Their leadership continues to inspire future generations, reflecting the university’s commitment to producing impactful, thoughtful leaders. Among these distinguished individuals is Aman Gupta, a prominent figure in the real estate sector and the Founder & Director of Indian Realtech. His journey from a student at Kirori Mal College (KMC) to a successful entrepreneur exemplifies the transformative power of a DU education.

Aman’s success is not only about his entrepreneurial achievements but also the values instilled during his time at DU. As a Statistics Honours student, he developed an analytical mindset, which has been essential in his real estate ventures, helping him assess market trends, evaluate risks, and make informed decisions.

His leadership roles as KMC’s student body president and captain of the cricket and football teams shaped his decision-making and team management abilities. These experiences, combined with his academic background, laid a solid foundation for his future success.

Aman’s career began with a passion for real estate, and today, he has built a thriving business specializing in premium real estate, retail leasing, and development. His focus on trust, transparency, and long-term wealth creation for clients has earned him respect in the industry.

Now expanding into turnkey interior solutions and a co-investment model, Aman continues to uphold integrity at the core of his work. His story proves that with a solid education, determination, and commitment to one's values, extraordinary success is achievable. Let’s read on.

How have the skills you developed helped you navigate challenges and setbacks in your professional journey?
The skills I have developed through education and professional experiences have been crucial in overcoming challenges in my career. Problem-solving with a strategic mindset, honed through my background in statistics, allows me to assess situations and find long-term solutions. Resilience and adaptability, developed during my time at Kirori Mal College through sports, politics, and event organization, help me manage pressure and pivot strategies when needed.

A leader must have clear goals and a strategic mindset, especially in industries like real estate where anticipating market trends is crucial

Leadership and people management skills, gained from leading student bodies and sports teams, are key in managing multiple real estate verticals and aligning diverse stakeholders. Above all, integrity and long-term thinking guide my decisions, allowing me to build trust and turn setbacks into growth opportunities. Each challenge has been a valuable learning experience, contributing to my ongoing success.

Who are the role models or mentors you had at the university, and what lessons have you learned from them?
During my time at Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, I was fortunate to learn from several inspiring individuals, including professors, seniors, and peers, who greatly shaped my approach to life and career. My professors in the Statistics department taught me to think analytically, break down complex problems, and make data-driven decisions, which are skills that have been invaluable in my real estate career.

In student politics and sports, my seniors helped me develop leadership abilities, showing me how to lead with confidence, manage pressure, and achieve common goals. As captain of the cricket and football teams, I learned the importance of teamwork, discipline, and turning setbacks into opportunities for growth.

Additionally, Shah Rukh Khan’s journey from DU to global success has been a personal inspiration, motivating me to aim higher and never settle. His story, along with the lessons from my mentors, taught me that growth comes from embracing challenges and pushing beyond comfort zones. My experiences at DU have shaped my perspective, enhanced my leadership skills, and continue to guide me as an entrepreneur.

What is the most memorable experience you had during your time at the university?
One of the most memorable experiences at Kirori Mal College was organizing an Alumni Meet for our department, a task that
hadn’t been done in over 20 years. Despite numerous challenges such as scheduling conflicts and financial constraints, my team and I persevered, delivering an impactful event that exceeded expectations.

Seeing alumni reconnect and appreciate our efforts made all the hard work worthwhile. Another defining moment was winning the election for President, which taught me valuable lessons in leadership, perseverance, and connecting with people. Campaigning, debating, and earning the trust of my peers shaped my ability to handle high-pressure situations and make impactful decisions. These experiences reinforced the values of persistence, leadership, and striving for something greater.

What are the key leadership qualities you have developed throughout your career?
Throughout my career, I have learned that effective leadership is built on vision, resilience, and the ability to inspire others. A leader must have clear goals and a strategic mindset, especially in industries like real estate where anticipating market trends is crucial. Resilience and adaptability are vital for overcoming setbacks, while leading by example with integrity, discipline, and professionalism earns respect.

Empowering and trusting teams to take ownership drives success, and clear, persuasive communication is key in negotiations. Integrity and long-term thinking build lasting relationships, while inspiring others fosters belief in a greater vision. Ultimately, leadership is about continuous growth, both personally and collectively.

How do you envision the long-term future of your professional journey?
In the long term, my goal is to build a ₹1000+ crore real estate empire that drives financial success and transforms India’s corporate and retail infrastructure. I plan to expand into interior design and turnkey solutions, offering clients fully furnished, high-end spaces.

Over the next five years, I aim to launch a real estate investment and management firm to co-invest with clients, ensuring maximum returns. Beyond business, I hope to contribute to environmental sustainability, improve infrastructure for the elderly, and create safer spaces for animals, ultimately achieving financial freedom and leaving a lasting legacy.
